[Camera fades up to a shot of Robert Lancaster and his wife Stephanie standing backstage. Lancaster spots his new boss, Robert Marshall walking towards the dressing rooms and calls out.]
LANCASTER:"Mr. Marshall, good evening."
MARSHALL: That all depends on your point of view Lancaster
LANCASTER: [Lancaster raises an eyebrow and nods] "Yes, I suppose it would. May I introduce my wife to you...Mr. Marshall, Stephanie Erin Lancaster.
[Stephanie smiles and shakes Marshall's hand] Stephanie: "A pleasure."
MARSHALL: Likewise [Nods towards Lancaster] I'd like a word with you please. ALONE
[Marshall then steers Lancaster away from his wife to a quite spot backstage.]
Lancaster: "What can I do for you."
MARSHALL: It's well known that you like to throw you status and money around to get what you want. The biggest example being the "loan" that you gave Lynch to help renovated the Jack Lynch Theatre. [Marshall moves closer to Lancaster] Between you and me I know that it simply amounted to a bribe so that you could get a shot at a title. Lynch was impressed with your title and your money but I'm not the old man so it won't work here.
[Robert is taken aback by Marshall's diatribe and apparent hostility. He looks at him blankly before a confused smile appears on his face.]
Lancaster: "Mr. Marshall, think what you may, but I have no intention of using my money in any underhanded way around here. That money my corporation funded to Lynch was an INVESTMENT, nothing more. I suggested it, the Board of Directors approved it. And frankly, you need not fear me, or my money. I am here to work."
MARSHALL: Investment. Bribe. Call it what you want it still worked out to the same thing.
Lancaster: "And how do you suggest that this money could have infected Chris Stratford so that he would have to forfeit the title, giving Mr. Wright and myself an UNSEEN championship opportunity?"
MARSHALL: Schematics Lancaster. Monroe and myself were told that you were to get the next available shot. What does that tell you.
LANCASTER: Well, it tells me that I earned it, Mr. Marshall. However, if money is such a concern to you...let me make this offer...I will never invest one CENT in your company, nor will I accept any salary you wish to pay me. Quite simply, I'll work free for you...hopefully that will allay your fears.
[Marshall mouth turns up in an unpleasent grin]
MARSHALL: No Lancaster you will be paid exactly what you got paid in the MSWA, simply because it will give me the opportunity to turn the screws every once in awhile. I don't like you Robert, and your contract will give me the opportunity to prove it to you.
LANCASTER: Be my guest Mr. Marshall. This is not the first time I have heard someone say "I don't like you," nor will it be the last. But no matter what you do or what you say, I shall prove myself to you, at any cost.
[Expecting a harsher retort Marshall has to pause for a moment before speaking.]
MARSHALL: See you do that or you will be joining the long list of unemployed wrestler. [Marshall starts to turn away but stops.] Oh and by the way. Stephanie hasn't signed a contract yet. So you either get her to sign on the dotted line or she doesn't go ringside with you.
[Marshall offers Stephanie a generous smile then turns and walks away]
LANCASTER: Mr. Marshall, you are most welcome to drop by our home sometime for dinner if you wish...
[Ignoring the comment Marshall continues walking away his search for another throat to rip out continuing]
[Fade away to a shot of Page and McCoy.]
PAGE: Marshall is on the war path it seems. I really don't think Robert Lancaster deserved that treatment.
MCCOY: I do. Lancaster is probably already plotting to get his grubby little fingers into the CSWA. I don't trust them Brits.
PAGE: Well that just set back British American relations back ten years. We will be right back folks.
