| BIGGEST RIVALRY OF THE YEAR UPCOMING SOON. The Latigo Classic is scheduled for June 6-12, 2004 at the Latigo Ranch in Kremmling, Colorado. The Cubs will play the Grizzlies. The second annual Classic should be just as exciting as the first, which occured last summer. Ben Ryan comes in after his astounding performance including 8 grand slams, a batting average well over .500, and clutch pitching. Sam Porter looks to pick up where he left off in the outfield with great hustle and amazing plays. His speed is a must for his position as the lead-of man. Jacob Porter looks to contribute at the plate and on the field. The Classic will be in 7 inning game formats with a best 3 of 5 series. The Cubs have been practicing very hard together, while simultaneously playing baseball in different leagues. For more info on the Latigo Ranch visit www.latigotrails.com. |
| CUBS HAVE EXTREMELY PRODUCTIVE PRACTICE FOR LATIGO CLASSIC!!! The cubs looked sharp as they spent a whole day preparing for the classic. In the scrimmage, Ben Ryan hit 14 home runs (a club record) and hit for the mega-cycle. He also had 20 strikeouts and only surrendered 6 runs in 9 innings. Ben&Sam beat out Jacob 54-6, but there were improvements on both sides. "I am really looking forward to pitching at the classic and seeing what some of the best hitters in the league can do against me." said Ryan |
