The Bahay Saliksikan ng Bulakan pursues its program of activities under five themes. These are:

Towards the realization of its assigned task, the Bahay Saliksikan will pursue its program of activities under five themes:

  1. RESEARCH directed towards effecting informed public policies and bringing to the fore of Bulacan's cultural heritage.
  2. PUBLICATION of research work in any areas of social institutions and processes and cultural works in the arts, history and culture.
  3. EDUCATION and dissemination of current discourses in social sciences to inform contemporary perspectives and life ways.
  4. ADVOCACY of culture as central to any form of development programs.
  5. LINKAGE and collaboration with other institutions and organizations to consolidate efforts in promoting history and culture for national development.

Specifically, it aims to:

" Provide venue to BSU faculty members and Bulakenyo scholars for their access and exposure to current discourses in various disciplines of the social sciences that relate to Bulacan and provide opportunities for their scholarship endeavors through research, publications, and as resource persons in symposia and conferences."

" Publish books, researches, monographs, and bulletin on culture, history, and communities of Bulacan."

" Collaborate with the Department of Education in enriching cultural contents of the secondary education curriculum by providing teachers' training in local and national history and culture."

" Produce teaching modules and teachers' manual on local history. "

" Conduct roundtable discussions, symposia, and conferences on culture, history, socio-economic, and political concerns of the province."

" Produce baseline data and comprehensive information on Bulacan that can be helpful for researchers and can serve as basis for the formulation of informed public policies."

" Put up strong linkages with other institutions, organizations and agencies involved in the study of culture, local history, and Kasaysayang Bayan."

" Foster free flow and exchange of information and researches on local history and culture on local and national level."

" Recognize the part of indigenous people of Bulacan in cultural development of the province."

" Initiate programs to protect and preserve tangible and intangible cultural and artistic heritage of Bulacan."

" Maintain a museum that safe keeps and presents the university's memorabilia and relics and artifacts of Bulacan."

" Open, under the BSU College of Arts and Sciences, formal course in BS in Local History and Philippine Studies."



Researchers, library users and visitors can access CD-ROM packages that contain:
  1. baseline data of each town of Bulacan on:
    -business, trade and economy
    -demographic profile
    -environment profile
    -political profile
    -peace and order profile


  2. baseline data on Bulacan province

  3. educational audio-visual materials on local history and culture

  4. history of Bulacan, its geography, people and culture

  5. court cases in Bulacan of socio-cultural imports

  6. bibliographical listings of Dr. Jose Rizal's writings
