Drakk Plague (Excalibur, Babylon 5) vs. The Phage (Star Trek: Voyageur)

Drakk Plague (Excalibur, Babylon 5) vs. The Phage (Star Trek: Voyageur)

This was an innovative battle that I came up with. The idea is to kill as many victims as possible, the most wins. I used the Earth as the battlefield. We introduce each plague on opposite sides of the planet. The attributes that will allow a competitor succeed are speed of transmission and viciousness. The Drakk Plague was dropped from space and infected the entire planet very quickly, therefore it spread quickly because its airborne. The Phage has infected the majority of the Vidian race, but I don't think its airborne. I don't know how it spreads but it seems to do so very efficiently however it does. I would guess that the Drakk plague would spread faster but another factor comes into play. The Excalibur had 7 years or so to find a cure for the plague. So it takes 7 years to kill its victims, plenty of time for the Phage to catch up. Therefore I assumed that everyone has both diseases. Treatment is not possible for our Earth since we don't have advanced nanotech or Klingon DNA. The Drakk plague works by using nanobots to infect the system and they sit for 7 years. The Phage is a virus that destroys all the organs of the body. I assume there is no cure for the Drakk plague since the nanobots fight off any attempt at treatment, but they probably can't fight a virus (Rule: tie goes to the defence). But this is not a battle in my usual sense but more of a competition. The destruction of organs by the Phage leaves nothing for the Drakk Plague to infect and the host will die. This happens quite rapidly so the Phage will kill more victims faster than the Drakk, which wll have infected the entire population very quickly but won't do anything for 7 years.

Winner: The Phage
