Rule #1:
Battles are to be fought between the two combatants chosen and no one else. (Ex: Ironman can't call on the rest of the
Avengers for help.)
Rule #2:
Combatants are instantaneously teleported from their home universe to the Arena. This is just a simple way of saying that they
can only use weapons/devices that they would carry with them on a regular basis. (Ex: If we did a battle with Thanos, he
would not be able to use the Infinity Gauntlet since he only had it for that miniseries.) This also means that the combatants
won't have any time to prepare.
Rule #3:
Information about the combatants can only come from the medium of their origin, i.e. where they were first seen.
(Ex: Anything about Batman is from the comics only.) The reason is that some movies or shows make the characters seem
more/less powerful than they really are or sometimes screw up their stories/powers. (Ex: The Spiderman movie: Web from
his hands!). The only exceptions are instances where it is agreed that the other medium does an acceptable job or the same
people involved with the original are involved in the other medium, i.e. Star Trek movies.
Rule #4:
Tie goes to the defence. If anything is uncertain about a situation, the tie goes to the combatant on the defensive.
(Ex: If it is unknown whether a force field of whomever can stop energy attacks as well as bullets, we assume it can.)
Rule #5:
Fights are to the DEATH. This means regardless of the combatant's moral standing, that they will kill some one.
Rule #6:
All conditions necessary for a combatant to be able to fight with all their efficacy exist. This means the Force is there for any
jedi to use, the battle takes place within a Matrix construct of Battleworld, and any other unforeseen needs.
Rule #7:
Any kind of device the fighter uses can only be activated within the arena and not beforehand.
For Universe Battles, all the rules are the same except for one addition.
Rule #8:
Anything can be used from the chosen universe that has appeared for more than one episode of a TV show or has played a
significant part of a movie. The idea is that is has to be memorable enough for other people who comment on the battle to get it
as well.
