Introduction
The Maclean Report website is presently run by Craig Maclean. Daily he sends out updates of the futures stock markets to his forty subscribers, by email. The purpose of this web site to gain more subscribers.
Site Goals
The main goal of the site, after a lengthy discussion with client, is to gain more subscribers to the futures stock market report. He also wants them to take the opportunity to sign up for a two weeks trial so that they can evaluate what they do get when they subscribe. But above all the client would like users to subscribe straight away so they get the full benefit of their subscribtion.
How Success is Measured
The success of this site will be measured by the increased in the numbers of subscribers that will be generated by the new site.
The User Experience
The client asks that the new site be targeted at new visitors as well as present subscribers. There should be a members only section that will be accessed by a password, this way only the subscribers will get the full benefit of the site. Archive files will also be available.
The Audience Definitions
The age of the clients will potentially between twentyfive and forty five. Existing clients to receive up todate information the the futures market.
Content Needs
This site does not have all the necessary information to deliver on its purpose and really needs extra content. Also needs to be a bit more inviting about how the content it set out.
Content Structure
This site definitally need more content.
Home Page
Because there is already a subscription page, this information from the home page. An extra link to the testimonials and obtain more of them. Especially some from people after they brought their first subscription and if they will continue and why.
Glossary Page
This page needs more info. If not on this page then maybe have a link to the education page to explain in detail about each step.
Theory Page
Maybe have a part two of the theory page where it is explained so that first time users can understand the theory.
Core Concept Page
This could have more information. I feel that the page is too short to explain what core concepts are.
Subscription Page
The banking details will be removed from the site. This could be sent to the subscriber via email. Maybe make it a secure site so that subscribers can pay with credit card.
Education Page
This page really needs more information. On this page it should explain to the visitors what the site is about (Futures Market) and then explain what the Futures market is. At present this is sadly missing.
Navigation System
This navigation system is not that easy to follow. Also you don't know which page you are on. This can be easily fixed with the navigation bar down the left side, with the main pages showing and when this is clicked there will submenus. To let a user know what page they are on the navigation link will a different colour. There should also be text links across the bottom, which, when clicked on will tell the user that they have visited that page.
The navigation system should be hierarchical navigation style so that the user is no more than three clicks away from where they are. On the sub pages there will be only the main menus, no submenus, this is so that the user can return to any main page that in no more then three clicks away.
There could also be and internal navigation system, submenus, which can be used as there will be more than one page per main navigation.
Visual Design
The clients stated that he wishes to keep the present logo as it is well known to his present subscribers.
