I am Your Friend

No matter if I've known you for a day or for a year,
You are still a friend to me,
And I want to make that clear.
Friends are for a lifetime,
Not just a day,
And even if you try,
Friends don't go away.
You can share your secrets,
And trust that I won't tell,
A true friend knows when to be silent.
If you're ever in a jam,
You can call on me,
Because true friends are always there.
A more loyal friend you'll never find,
Than the ones that are right there by your side.
If you're having problems,
Or have had a hard day,
I'll be there to listen,
And wipe your tears away.
If you're feeling down,
And need a helping hand,
I'll be there to lift you,
when you feel that you can't stand.
If you feel alone,
I will show you that you're not.
Please know that if you ever need a friend,
I will be right here.
