The mission would provide housing, food, transportation, and childcare to those that need it. Everyone that is homeless would be elegible for our services. They would be allowed to stay in the housing for up to a year with reviews on a regular basis to be assured that they are trying to get work or working. Meals will be provided three times a day; even to those not residing in the shelter. Those that are looking for work or working will be given transportation subsidies to help them; as well as a sack lunch. Single parents and families that are homeless won't have to worry about their children as childcare will be provided. Those careing for the children would be other parents there as every parent needs to work one day a week caring for the children.
We also are looking to establish a semi-selfsufficient farm community where people can come as a retreat from the modern world. To help people regain a feeling of accomplishment and self worth. People from the shelter can come and work on the farm. When they return to the city they can feel better about themselves and be motivated to return to work.
As we are a small group we cannot afford to pay for these things. Therefore, to accomplish these works we will need donations from the public. People like you can help the homeless in a way that really helps; by providing the means for them to return to work; rather than simply warehousing the problem.
