Riding the wave
Given my great success in inadvertently divining people from my past who were egosurfing and found my blog, I figured I'd shamelessly try to crack the case that's been frustrating me for more than 15 years: Anne Lerner. In 1983 we both studied in the NYU in Spain program and became great friends. We traveled every weekend, drank a lot of wine, pined over cute boys, went to chamber music concerts, improved each other's Spanish, and helped each other through some difficult personal issues. To me she was a great friend in my difficult struggle to come out. Her sensitivity and sweetness made a lasting impression. After we returned to the States, she to Chicago and I to New York, we kept in touch for a few years. The last time I called her, around 1986, her mom said she had moved to the West Coast and would pass along her message. Shortly after that I moved to DC, and we lost touch.
From my Google searching, I've gathered that she is now a well-respected cellist performing in the San Francisco Bay Area, and her name is now Anne Lerner-Wright.
Anne, darling, if you're out there, drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you.
