| The festival is based at the Parnkalla Lions Hostel, North Shields, which is just off the Lincoln Highway, 11km. from Port Lincoln (on the way to the airport & towards the village of Poonindie) Most of the planned activities, will take place, over the weekend, in & around the large, fully enclosed activity hall We have booked the whole complex from Friday midday till 12 noon on the Monday, & breakfasts each day & lunches plus evening meals on Saturday & Sunday, will be available on-site at a very reasonable cost. All meals will be served in the activity area and there will be an Information Booth operating there, most of the weekend for tickets, merchandise & information.. Due to the recent bushfire damage Accommodation at the hostel, this year, will be restricted to camping or vanning with only COLD showers available. Unfortunately the re-connection of hot water to the toilet block will not be completed by May. However bowls of HOT water WILL be available from the kitchen for those hardy souls still willing to camp! In view of this restriction we will waive the normal camping fee, for this year for festival ticket holders. (We are assured that plans are well in hand for a new dormitory block, upgraded toilet & shower block & upgraded kitchen but these things all take time ! So please bear with us for the time being.) As for the rest of the festival, accompanied school-age children will not be charged for camping or admission, so long as they are under parental control Campervans, swags & tents may be accommodated in the grounds of the hostel with access to all facilities but please erect tents on the section, nearest to the Caretakers cottage i.e. away from the main shed.(See map on program brochure) [ And Please Note : NO PETS are allowed at the Lions Hostel if you want to bring a pet try the Caravan Park, Thanks ] We will be fairly self-contained for the 4 days of the festival, but there are a range of facilities within a few minutes walk of the hostel, including The Wheatsheaf Hotel (evening meal & concert Friday); a Caravan Park (the Port Lincoln Caravan Park) with Roadhouse: fuel, public telephone, post box, food & general store, plus swimming, boating & fishing available from the foreshore & jetty close by. The hotel currently offers no accommodation, but the Caravan Park has some standard cabins still available from $60 per night, for from 2 to 6 people, ($5 extra per person above the first 2). Linen & pillows may be hired otherwise bring your own ! Also, powered & un-powered sites are available (from $20 / $15) some on the foreshore of beautiful Boston Bay. Bookings & Enquiries for the Port Lincoln Caravan Park should be made on (08) 8684 3512 (Fax: 8684 3504).
