At age five, she had her first real performance. She had already performed hundreds of songs on the kitchen table, back in the Dion-house. But this was different. For the first time, she was going to perform in front of hundreds of total strangers. It was at her brother Michel's wedding, and she would sing two songs; "Mamy Blue" and "Les Aguilles..." When she walked onstage, she was terrified. She held the microphone in her hand, kept her eyes on the ground. And she didn't dare looking at the audience. The intro begun, but nothing happened. Celine was just staring at her feet. Her mother stood in the wings of the scene, telling her to pretend if she was on the greatest stage ever. The intro started over again, and this time she looked up, started singing. Once she began, her stage-fright disappeared, and you could actually see that her thoughts were on the greatest stage in the world.
