The Dark Wars and Dangerous Streets

part two

1149 C.E.

/Aleese and Suneyva lay curled up together in a corner of the archives. They wanted to be far from the door in case someone stumbled by the building in day and got curious, but they also wanted to be apart from the uninvited Tremere. He lay on the other side of the bookshelves in the dustier part of the building, confident that he would wake first.

Suneyva knew something that the neonate did not, however, and was sure that as she was elder no matter what spelles were used she would wake at least a little bit before any young upstart. The Gangrel and Tzimisce would have the advantage. She and Aleese left the archive quietly at sunset, before the Tremere had woke, and were well on their way with the information they had stolen before anyone else left the building in the woods. There would be no one following them and the young Tremere would simply be considered missing./

Suneyva liked to pace through the halls of the old zoo mansion. It was a strange home; one that may have fit a Malkavian for it's odd angles and disturbing symmetry. When the city zoo had been open the house had been the tourist center and the large open rooms and wide halls were well used. It was still a bit drafty, but almost every room had a fireplace and so it wasn't really a problem.

It was quite a lovely house, from Gangrel perspectives. Southern plantation style with large columns and wrap around (now enclosed) porch, secret passages and a large heated attic. There was lots of space to move around in. To bad she couldn't find something better to do with the furnishings.

Her boot heels clicked on the well worn marble floors as she paced. She smiled to herself as she planned out the attack that would take place soon. She wanted it to be simple and quick, without breaking the Masquerade, and she knew several ways that she could do that. It would take maybe all of five minutes with the cooperation of the coterie and then Enrique would be hers to do with as she pleased.

*

Magnus and Jakob arrived at the zoo together, but not happily so. Suneyva was quick to notice the little sneers and glares directed toward the Children of Gaia pack representative. The two Garou walked stiffly, eyes wary, into the house and Julianna was there instantly to greet them. She led Jakob to the armory.

Suneyva was left with Magnus in the hall and she pulled him aside to another small room. "I want to attack in two hours. We meet back here before going to Enrique's Haven." He nodded and she continued. "I'll be at Illusions meeting with the coterie to finalize our deal and Julianna will be here in case you need to contact us before then. We meet her in two hours; three Garou from each tribe, Julianna and myself, and we choose our weapons."

"You know what I'm offering to the tribes; I have good rifles to protect your territories and extra hunting licences to explain anything odd to the authorities. Is that acceptable?"

Magnus grinned, "We of the Get are pleased to help you Daughter of Odin, it is a pleasure to fight with a Scandinavian sister." He clasped her shoulder roughly for a moment before finding his way out of the zoo.

*

The weaponry was ready, but Suneyva doubted that any would be needed other than a one or two pieces. The coterie would let them in and leave so Enrique would be all alone. It would be simple, but then she wasn't hoping to kill him right away. If it could be drawn out and painful it would be much more enjoyable; that was so true about so many things she mused.

She smiled thinly at Magnus and he nodded, ready to rush into the building, but they didn't need to do that. She raised her hand to the door and let just one finger press against the upraised letters, the Anarch on the other side was listening for the small noise and opened the door slowly to let them in. The coterie slipped out as the Gangrel and Garou entered, matching steps. Enrique shouldn't even notice that anything had changed until it was too late.

Suneyva led them down a long hall, holding a slender mirror to her chest. She might not use it as a weapon, but it was just too cruel to pass up. As they moved towards the large chamber ahead Magnus led his men down a shorter hall to the left, while Jakob and the Children of Gaia went to the right. They would encircle the chamber and trap Enrique there. It seemed to be moving smoothly. She could even hear the Lasombra humming absent mindedly to himself. It almost made her want to laugh.

She and Juliana went into the balcony above the chamber quiety, seeing that the Garou were doing the same, and without making a noise they got into place. Enrique was sitting at the small man-made fish pond in the center of the room, rippling the surface with his fingers. Suneyva smiled at Julianna and leaned over the balcony rail to pull a small red string; and the velvet curtains lining the walls fell.

Enrique looked up as he heard the sudden rustle of fabric and was caught staring at a mirror with no reflection other than the other mirrors that were placed around the room. He stood suddenly and started to reach out when a small arrow sliced between his hands. "Who!"

Suneyva laughed out loud, startling the Sabbat into looking up. She grinned at him, "Hello Enrique, remember me?" She gestured to the Garou who now held crossbows and to Julianna who had taken a small handgun. "I wouldn't move if I were you."

His face fell as he realized what she had done and that there had been no noise of resistance from outside. She had free access to his Haven because he had been betrayed. "What do you want of me? I am powerful in the Sabbat, I can make you powerful Suneyva. You know what a joke the Camarilla is, leave and join us. We are strong!"

She snorted. "The Camarilla has it's problems, but the Sabbat doesn't even treat its own with respect. Why would I join something like that? There will be no bargaining for you. I don't care that you are Sabbat; I only care that you killed my friend. For that you will be sorry for the rest of your life." She gestured sharply and Magnus' shot was true.

Julianna paced through the armory, still unhappy with the night's events. Revenge wasn't good for the heart she had believed, but Suneyva seemed to be so happy that she had gotten the Lasombra.

She had gone to the Spire with her Sire to present the would-be Archbishop's scythe to Prince DeLarch. The Brujah had been pleased with them and had allowed Suneyva to keep the Sabbat for a little longer, and now the battle at least was over and done with.

Enrique lay still on the metal table and watching him Suneyva felt a growing excitement within her gut. She had never used this room before; the old medical annex had been built to treat sick animals and the stainless steel table and walls seemed perfect for this use. Plus, it had a handy little drain in the floor. She grinned as she strapped his arms, legs, and waist into place. He may be strong, but even Kindred could not break these bonds.

When she was ready she pulled the stake of wood from his chest and watched the color return to his face. She had killed a tramp earlier and saved the blood for just this moment. As the Lasombra begin to wake she poured some of the congeling blood down his throat. He gagged a little, but that didn't make her feel bad at all.

"You bitch! Let me go. Now! The Sabbat will get you for this!" He pulled at the restraints weakly and she giggled.

"Yeah, they will be very happy with me. I petitioned for the right of revenge and it was granted, so you are mine. You killed Aleese." She picked up the straight razor that lay near the foot of the table and began to sharpen it. The Lasombra jerked as he heard the blade slide against the leather. "Until you aplogize, and I mean sincerely, you will have to stay here with me. However, if you are sincere enough I will set you free." She let the leather strap slap against the metal wall with a loud thwack before moving closer to the table again.

"Never! That bitch deserved what she got." He stretched against the bonds again, still not budging them. Suneyva took great pleasure in the fact the he watched her hands so carefully as she slice his thigh open. His scream took a little of the chill from the room and she continued.

When the razor lost its effectiveness she picked up the second small instrument. "Remember, if you apologize I'll set you free." She flicked the small lighter on and let it go out several times near his eyes. "Wouldn't you like to admit how sorry you are for killing my friend?"

He growled, "No," and flinched as the flame came a little closer.

Suneyva grinned. "Okay then," she spoke brightly, showing how close to Sabbat she could become. She grabbed his hand and separated the index finger from the rest before shoving it into the flame. It caught instantly and started sparking before she got a rag to smother it. "How about your hair?" She licked her lips and moved to separate a single strand of the silky black and lit it before he could answer. The screaming almost deafened her for a moment, and across the yard in the house Julianna had to cover her ears.

She stopped the flames before they took more than the hair and then pulled the remaining fuzz from his burnt scalp with her fingernails. "Are we having fun? Maybe a little confession of remorse would be good for your soul?" He tried to spit at her, but couldn't work up enough fluid. She had to give him another dribble of blood to keep him conscious so that they could continue before going across the room for her sword.

Suneyva approached the table again, more slowly, and hopped up to stand above the Sabbat. She brought the sword point straight down, impaling him through the gut. Strapping the sword across her back she then leaned over the prone Kindred and shoved her hands through the fresh wound. Her eyes had a feverish quaility he had seen in many Tzmisce and from the smile she wore she assumed she felt something interesting inside of him, but coherent thought didn't last much longer. She grabbed part of his intestines and began pulling them out as though they were rope. "How about this, that feel wonderful or what?"

She had no intention of stopping and had gotten quite a pile of entrails outside his body before he started babbling.

"I'm sorry! Please stop, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt Aleese, please you have to believe me. I'm so sorry! I loved her so much." Suneyva pulled out another length of intestine and he screamed louder. "I am sorry! I am, I am, I mean it! I've always regretted killing her, please you gotta believe me!"

The Gangrel's eyes hardened. "You killed my friend. I loved her. She was the best of you Sabbat and none will ever have half her humanity. You worthless piece of diablerizing scum."

He coughed a little, blanching even whiter. "You promised that I could go free." Enrique flinched as she came closer, but as her hand strayed towards the bindings he felt a little better.

"Yes, I did." She reached towards the strap and in a quick movement reached back and grabbed the hilt of her sword instead. She decapitated him cleanly. His head fell to the floor and she bunted it across the room. "Now you're free."
