Hemp: Criminalized Nature Good info

The last time I smoked pot was 042001. I was never really a heavy user of the drug. Okay, well...except that time when I was 17 and stayed stoned for a month straight.

Even though I no longer wish to participate when friends smoke the stuff, I am not against the use of the drug. Mostly because it's definitely the lesser evil when compared to other 'illegal substances'. I'm glad I lost the urge to smoke pot. Even though it has it's good qualities, I think it's just too expensive. It makes you feel like shit. It makes you overly paranoid. It makes you stupid. Most smokers would naturally deny those facts, but it's the honest truth. I honestly wouldn't want to see pot legalized, though my opinion on that subject was completely opposite when I was a kid. I won't go into that now because I need to finish working on my homework.

I wonder how many other people reach a point in their lives, when they too, realize that smoking weed just isn't as much fun as it seemed the first time they tried it. I also wonder how many people stop using it when they make this realization.

Something I would like to see happen is for hemp clothing and products to become more easily available in the US. Buying that stuff is just too freaking expensive.

Another FAQ site: SFSI, where you can find answers to all sorts of questions and get good advice such as: "Does your body hurt? Are you rubbed raw, chafed, or bleeding? If so, that's also a good clue that you're doing it too much (or perhaps too aggressively)." no shit.

I dyed my hair darker today. The last time I dyed my hair it had red mixed in with the dark brown. This time it's just dark brown. Really dark. It looks soo much better. Plus, no grays! *dances around*

Okay, so I only have like 6 of them, but they're hidden now!!!

So, I went to the meeting at school and found out that Dylan's IQ score is 123. I'm not shocked, I can tell my son is intelligent. He passed the other tests so well. He had problems with the parts where he had to pay attention and do things on his own. Then he lost focus.

His grades this reporting period are:
Language Arts 59 F
Science 80 C
Spelling 80 C
Social Studies 86 B
Math 29 F
Reading 77 C

He has the ability to make all A's. He won't focus and can't pay attention. He's not hyper, he's the opposite. If it's something he wants to do, he can focus all day long. Like yesterday when building things with legos. He made all sorts of castles and built people with the legos. But when I asked him to do something, I had to repeat the request ten times before he would do it! Argh.

He would start and then get side tracked.

So he's going to be in special ed classes. They won't be all day because he has social issues too. We don't want to make him feel even more singled out than he does already.

I had these issues when I was a kid, but no one took notice. At least I'm a good enough parent to take notice and get him some help. Unlike my family.

Wayne (Dylan's father) went to the first meetings with the school. He wasn't working, so it made sense for him to go since we didn't have flex time where I work at time. I wish I had gone now. Wayne acted as if he's a freaking genius and I'm dumber than dirt, at least that's the impression the people at the school got. Yes, Wayne is smart and has a high IQ and graduated early, but he didn't have to leave out the fact that I'm a bit more intelligent than a rock.

The people at the school kept making comments about how difficult it mus be for me to live with two intelligent people like them. I know they didn't mean any harm, but their impression of me is totally WRONG!

I went to the store after the meeting and picked up a few things. I bought some haircolor and will probably dye my hair tonight. It's a dark brown dye, so hopefully it will get rid of some of the red that is in my hair now. I like red, but it's mostly at the ends of my hair and that's just annoying.

Head hurts. Nose stuffy. Throat sore. Coughing. Ears hurt.

I feel icky.

I'm making coffee and trying to wake up a bit before going to the meeting at my son's school.

Honestly, I'd rather be back in my bed.

I bought A Classic Case: Jethro Tull this weekend. I've been a fan of Tull all my life and really look forward to the arrival of my new cd!

Depending on my mood after the meeting, I'm either going to work on my paper or play UO some more.
