Work went well enough today, not much to say about anything there really.

We had lunch from Nader's today. I love their rice and pita bread. I ordered a piece of baklava, wanting to compare their version to my own, and it was terrible. Mine is way better. One would think that something purchased from a place where the people claim the food to be 'authentic' would actually make it right.

When I make baklava, I layer half a pack of phyllo in my pan and brush each layer with butter. Then I put a mixture of chopped nuts, sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves in the middle. Then I cover the rest with more buttered layers of phyllo. Then I cut the whole thing into diamond shapes and put a clove in the center of each diamond. I bake it until it starts to turn brown. Then I pour a cooked mixture of sugar, water, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, cloves and cinnamon sticks over the entire thing (though I pick the last three ingredients out before pouring). It bubbles all up and looks neat when the liquid hits it. It's awesome. So far, everyone has said that my recipe is the best they've ever had. I read several recipes and then figured out my own. I don't even measure stuff when I make it.

I'm not sure what I want to do tonight. I would like to read, but my book hasn't arrived in the mail yet. It's not supposed to get here until next week, so I guess I'll have to suffer a few days longer. I have over a thousand books and there's nothing to read. Pretty sad.

The past few days have gone by so quickly. I haven't had much time for here, though I would have prefered to spend my time being a bum in front of the computer. I finished my third book in a week, did a lot of house cleaning, writing and whatnot. I had to work yesterday, but left around 2 pm, so it wasn't that bad.

I went to Wayne's mom's house last night and had dinner. The aunt that had most recently lost her husband was there. The family bought her a puppy, a Lhasa Apso. I'm not much of a 'toy dog' person, but I do think this puppy is adorable. They tricked the aunt and made her go answer the doorbell. She opened the door and there was a basket (containing the puppy) on the front porch. She started to cry when she picked it up. It was great.

Dylan woke up at 7am this morning and I was a total zombie (I had gone to bed at 5 am). He was sooo excited when he opened his presents! I had bought him a Compound Bow, many books, and a game for his PS2. He's also getting a computer, but not until the beginning of next year.

Today I'm going to see The Lord of the Rings, that's another surprise for Dylan. I would be going to visit my family, but really I'd rather not. So I'm not.

Today is almost over. Yay.

What Video Game Character Are You? I am Mario.I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. What Video Game Character Are You?
