"Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with catsup"

I talked to my mom today. She actually called me. I haven't spoken to her since April or before that. Well, she's quit drinking (she's been drinking excessively for 15 years) and has lost her job and has gained some sort of back problem. She weighs around 95 lbs now and can't really do anything because of the back pain. I could tell she had been taking painkillers of some kind because she sounded pretty wasted, but happy.

My sister left her dog with me for the weekend because the person that was supposed to watch it wouldn't. The dog is a Pitt Bull and her name is Mable. She's a pretty dog and nice to humans, but I can't keep her around the cats. She likes to use them for chew toys. So it's a pain to rotate all FIVE animals. At least I can let her sleep in her kennel thingy. Mason loves her and they are getting along great. Right now, they're outside chasing each other like crazy and having a good time. She is a very strong dog and I've already gotten up close and personal with those teeth of hers. She was playing, but it still hurt. I am very wary of these dogs. The last one I had mutilated a cat and took down a pony. This was after my stepfather had given her to someone else because she kept trying to eat our other dogs. That dog had come from another home and probably wasn't treated very well, so she was a bit off in the head. But still, I feel that this dog is a bit off too. Argh. I can't wait for Erin to get back from NY.

Erin was living with a bunch of people she knew. One of them was a guy she was thinking about dating. Well, on Thursday she had gotten into some sort of fight with him and the guy stole ALL her stuff! She called the police and got most of it back. He had thrown her saddle and clothes into a dumpster at the 7-11 down the road and poured some sort of glue all over the clothes. Most of them are stuck together and completely ruined. She's going to get the money back for her clothing. The guy took over $1300k worth of stuff! The jerk even made 98729347 calls on her cell phone too!

The funeral for Dylan's uncle is today. ugh.

An uncle died last night. Before thanksgiving he had three heart attacks in one day. He had cancer, which caused the doctors to remove most of his intestines, and he had lung problems as well. He was one of Dylan's favorites and the first person close to him to die. (Dylan's grandfather died when he was one, so he doesn't remember). This is going to be really difficult for Dylan to deal with.

I've had this wretched headache since sunday and I don't feel like getting dressed today. Bed was quite warm and comfortable and I was sleeping pretty good. I don't want to go to work today. :(

If I were a work of art, I would be Vincent Van Gogh's The Starry Night.

I am a tiny village at peace while overhead rages the tumult of the heavens. Objects whirl and flash around me in a fevered haze only partially reflected in reality while I remain grounded and secure in my isolation.

Which work of art would you be? The Art Test

I worked very hard all day long and I didn't get home until almost 8pm tonight. I'm tired and hungry. What's for dinner? Cream of Wheat. Yeah, I need to go to the store.

Tomorrow I'm going to Vicki's to have her most wonderful salsa and play with lights or something. Kym and a bunch of people I've never met are supposed to be there too!

Yahoo took like forever to post my latest entry at the Inn last night. I was relieved to see it there when I got home from work. I had made changes and didn't save it (duh) and then it didn't show up. I thought I was going to have to do it all over again. whew!

I don't understand the thing about people that are on strict vegan diets. I mean, there's all that fake meat made out of tofu with the fake flavorings of the meats in them. That just sounds sick. I see it as pretending to eat the flesh of a dead animal. Come on. If you're going to omit the food from your life, don't fake it.

This weekend has gone by too fast. I managed to resist the urge to nap both days, but still the day didn't seem to pass any slower.Getting Dylan to rake leaves is probably the most difficult task I've encountered this year. The poor child never has to do anything extreme around the house and acts like I'm the spawn of satan just because I asked him to rake leaves. Sheesh! It's not like I have asked him to do anything else this weekend, or even for the past week!
