What does the word cowboy mean to you?  Does it evoke pictures of John Wayne riding a horse to catch outlaws?  Hollywood pictures tend to paint an unrealistic picture of what cowboys really did and the influx of modern technology in our world has erased many aspects of the former American West from our eyes. This webquest will challenge you to think of what the American West looked like in the mid-1800's through the eyes of a cowboy.
