Season 7 - Episode 17 - Survival of the Fittest

I loved the expression on Dave's face when he said "Is that Haldol?"
although as was pointed out already, why was there actually Haldol in the
syringe?  I'm sure they could have got 10 of something harmless to put in
it.

Mmmm, Dave has great legs (sigh)

If I was Simon (runaway kid) I think I'd be yelling as well.
And surely his mother could have waited until *after* he got his blood taken
before leaving him alone?

When did Kerry start calling him 'Dave' instead of 'Malucci' ?
or did she just think a one syllabled yell would sound better than a
multi-syllabled one?

I also thought she was surpisingly lenient with him.  Although she probably
figured she'd wait until he was more alert before yelling at him <g>

So that's twice this season that Kerry has blamed Dave for something that
wasn't his fault (the paper plane in Mars Attacks)

Okay, I take back what I said before (on a.t.e.) about the 'cans tied to
crutch' being funny.  The way they were swinging around, they could easily
have tangled themselves round Kerry's good leg and caused a serious fall.
Whoever did it, didn't need to tie on so many.

But I'm betting that Luka was the one to actually tie them on.

I'm also pretty certain that that's not the first time that Dave has had
that whole 'Malucci, what did I just say?' exchange with a teacher or
supervisor.

Carter "What's the matter with him?"
Abby  "10 of Haldol."

Anyone else wonder if Carter was thinking "Wow, I wonder how I can get
some?"

And yet again Simon's mother runs off when they need to draw blood.

Is it a good idea to be blowing bubbles in an ER which is probably full of
people with open wounds who might not want to get bubble mixture on them?

I'm surprised at Kerry referring to a patient as 'the screamer'.  It's the
sort of thing you'd expect Dave to say, but not the Chief of Emergency
Medicine.

When Carter was undressing the asthma kid, Stuart, couldn't they have
brought out a screen or something for privacy?

I liked the Elizabeth/Romano trading insults scene, especially Elizabeth's
smile to Romano followed by a quick look of disgust as she realizes she
can't think of a suitable retort to his last comment.

Chuny should never have left Mrs Howard in a bed with the rail pulled down.
I mean, how long would it have taken her to lock the rail in position?

I counted six warnings to Mrs Howard to put the gun down, before the cop
shot her.

Loved Romano's line "Sorry, this must be the day spa.  I was looking for the OR."

Shirley didn't seem overly impressed at having to give Elizabeth a back rub.
I presume she'd have had to rescrub herself afterwards?

How did Romano (who barely even glanced at the operating field) know about
that 'defect to the ascending colon' ?

Hehehe.  Sulky Elizabeth "We were doing perfectly well until you came along, thank you."

Wow, I don't think Carter smirked once when he was talking to Stuart.

Pedes lady "Dr. Carter, right?"
Carter, "Yes, have we met?"
Pedes lady "no."

oooh, I guess Rena's being doing a little bragging.
(I actually thought it was Randi in the Pedes room at first)

I'm glad that Cleo actually gave some thought to what her patient (Laura the
soon to be stroked out egg donor) wanted and offered to call the
gynecologist.  Of course the fact that it wasn't what Mark wanted is an
added bonus <g>

Um, Emily (aka idiot pregnant kid) you're going to have to tell your mother
sooner or later, especially if you expect her to help you out until you're
in 9th grade.

I say again.  If Reese had been anywhere in the ER when Mrs Howard was
waving a gun about, Peter would have been the first one yelling 'Shoot the bitch'

Calling your mother a bitch and saying that you'd be a better mother than
she was, is not the best way to ensure that she'll help you look after your baby.

Rena tells Carter she has a mid-term.
Carter says "I can help you study."
Carter thinks "Please let it be anatomy."

Carter, if you don't want Abby to see you with Rena and realize that you're
going out with her, it might be a good idea *not* to arrange to meet her in
the ER.  (of course then we wouldn't have had the scene with Carter and Rena
each naming a different subject when Mark asks them what Mid-terms she has)

Rena (re Carter)  "I find his honesty refreshing." (audience snickers)

Emily is so keen to be pregnant but she can't even be bothered looking at
the ultrasound on the monitor.

I'm surprised they didn't show us Mark persuading the husband to agree to
the egg harvesting.  But I suppose there's no one in the ER who was having
fertility treatment so they didn't need that anvil.

Damm, I would have loved to have seen the scene where Dave woke up and found
his hand stuck to his face.

Elizabeth: "I'm going to rest and I'm going to take care of myself and my
baby."
And she'll be bored stiff within the week.  Although I suppose there is all
the wedding stuff to organize.  I guess the '8 weeks maternity leave' is
counted from the birth and isn't 8 weeks total (otherwise she'd be due back
within a week of the birth....assuming junior wasn't late)

And why doesn't she just stick around and do paperwork?  I'm sure there's
always plenty of it around.  (or is doing paperwork not good enough for a
surgeon)
