. Errin takes you along the Great Hall and up two flights of wide stairs. Partway along a hallway, he leads you through a door, and you find yourself in the Council Chamber of the Druids.

Rows of seats rise on three sides of the room--a viewing gallery. In the center of the floor stands a large oval table. Errin says that this is where the Council meets, and points out his Gran's chair at the head of the table, indistinguishable, apart from its position, from any of the others.

[Stained Glass Window]
The far wall is lined with stained glass windows. Some of these seem to be of great antiquity, but the one in the center seems newer. Chief among the things pictured in that window is a sword in a marble block, which you immediately identify as the Sword of Shannara. In a scroll across the bottom of this window is the legend: Ab Scientia, Servitium.

Errin does not allow you to look as long as you might like, and takes you down the hallway to another door. Beyond it you find yourself amazed--there are more books here, lining the walls of the Library, than you have ever seen in your life.

"Come on," Errin says. He goes to one of the bookcases and reaches into it. It swings back like a door, revealing an inner chamber.

"Gran doesn't know that I know how to get in here." This room contains fewer books, but many of the volumes seem to be of great age, and you guess that these are the fabled Druid Histories.

Before you have time to observe much, though, Errin says, "We'd better get out of here. I don't want to get in trouble." He herds you out and closes the bookcase. He seems a little nervous. "Maybe you'd like to rest for awhile before you go see the Lady Andrea."

Would you rather:

Go rest for a while?
Go see the Lady Andrea now?
Or see the Side Galleries?
Or see the Great Tower?
