The game in Reinbeck is scheduled for Monday, June 4th at 6:30. Please try to be there by 6:00. The U14 boys team will be playing the other Reinbeck team after our game.

The Iowa City Illusion game is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30 at 6:00 at the University of Iowa Hawkeye recreational fields. If your son needs a ride, please let me know. I am working on getting directions to the field.
A map for Rochester is available on our web page under field maps but does not print very clearly. I will hand out maps tonight at tryouts.
Rochester has provided directions at the following web site. Our Hotel is Super 8 South and is located at 1230 S Broadway which is also HWY. 63. It is located behind Denny's next to a large ear of corn. The reservations were originally made for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. We will only play Monday if the games have to be postponed.
If you want to order a La Crosse t-shirt, please check with Shelly Arntson in Rochester this weekend. I haven't received any information about t-shirts for the Winona tournament.
Tentatively we are trying to schedule a game with Reinbeck for Monday June 4th.

State Cup Results - Urbandale beat West Des Moines 2-1 to win our division of the state cup.
Congratulations go the the CV Vipers U11 boys and the CV Rampage U13 Girls for winning the State Cup and become the first state champions from the CVYSA!!

The game scheduled this Sunday, May 20 against the Iowa City Illusion in East Moline has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 30th in Iowa City. Time and field location are yet to be determined.
Don't forget to do your thousand touches since you have the weekend off.

Our game on Sunday, May 20th has been moved from Iowa City to East Moline. I have been told that the Iowa City fields are not available that day. Some of you have told me that you will not be able to play that weekend. Please let me know ASAP if you are not going to be able to play on May 20th so I can make sure we have enough players.
We still need one volunteer for tryouts on Monday and Tuesday. Thank you if you have already volunteered.

If you haven't paid, please bring your money to practice Wednesday if you ordered a Rochester T-shirt.
If you haven't made reservations, please make Hotel reservations for the Rochester tournament ASAP. The deadline to make reservations is Sunday, May 13th. Dates are May 25th through May 28th A block of rooms have been reserved for $59.00 per night at the Super 8 South (this is the same one we stayed at last year). The reservation is under Wolverines. The phone number is 507-288-8288. Please thank Lynn Patterson for making these reservations.
The rumor is true about our game May 20th. It has been moved from Iowa City to East Moline. I have emailed the Iowa City coach to see if we can get it changed back. I am also contacting Illowa.
Thanks for a great effort this weekend under interesting conditions. We showed improvement over last year with our first state cup win. Heartland tied West Des Moines just proving what Chris said that the best team doesn't always win. Sometimes the team with the most heart and determination ends up the winner.
I have an umbrella and a purple turtle neck from this weekend.

Please let us know if you are not going to be able to play in any games this weekend at the state cup.
We still need two volunteers to help at tryouts May 21, 22 and 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the complex. You will time players as they run through the drills. You can volunteer for one, two or three nights. May 24th is a rain date.

Practice for tonight has been canceled because of the cold weather.

Please send $60.00 to Mark Schauls or Doug Christensen ASAP if you have not paid. Make checks out to the CVYSA. The tournaments require registration by early April.
Our first Illowa game is Sunday, April 8th at 12:00 at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex. A complete schedule is below.
Our team will have to provide volunteers for the concession stand on days when our team does not play at the complex but other teams have games. I will let you know the dates when they become available.
Our first practice is on Sunday, April 1st from 4:30 to 6:00 at NU High on the tennis courts. Please bring your tennis shoes and cleats. We will then practice on Monday April 2nd from 6:00 to 7:30. Location will be decided at Sunday's practice. Our normal practice times will be 6:00 to 7:30 on Monday's and Friday's at Deery. In early May we will switch the Friday practice to Wednesday. Since the practices went so well the last two weeks of the fall season, we would like a parent volunteer for practices this spring. Please email me any day you can help with practice. I will make a list on the web so everyone knows what dates are taken.
Don't forget to make hotel reservations for the tournaments!! Please let me know ASAP if you will not be able to play in any of the tournaments or Illowa games.
Tryouts for next year will be on May 21, 22 & 23 with the 24th as a rain date. We will need two parent volunteers to help keep times when the players do the drills and one volunteer to check the players in. Please let me know if you can help on any of these nights. If your son can not make any of the tryouts and wants to play on the team next year, please contact Mark.

Winona � June 15th through June 17th None of the hotels we were given by the tournament have a block of rooms available so we will not be able to stay at a hotel as a team. Some of the hotels have limited rooms available. Please call one of the hotels below ASAP to make your reservations.

La Crosse � July 6th through July 8th We have reservations at the Night $aver Inn in La Crosse. The rooms cost $66.00 per night. Please call 800-658-9497 by May 20th to reserve your room or the rooms will not be held. The rooms are reserved under the name 'Cedar Valley Elite Soccer team'. If we do not have an Illowa game on Saturday, April 7th, we will create teams to play in the indoor soccer tournament in the UNI-Dome from 6 - 10 p.m. on Friday, April 6th and noon � 10 p. m. on Saturday, April 7th. If you can play in the indoor UNI-Dome tournament, please reply to me by 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28th. The cost will be about $15.00 per player depending on how many players can play. This is a great opportunity for the boys to play in the UNI-Dome.
We will have our first practice on Sunday April 1st from 4:30 to 6:00. Please watch your email for the location. We will try to practice on Monday, April 2nd from 6:00 to 7:30 depending on the weather.
Our normal practice schedule will be on Monday and Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 at Deery. In early May when baseball starts and church stops we will move the Friday practice to Wednesday.

Reinbeck is hosting a 3 on 3 indoor soccer tournament on Saturday March 17th. The cost is $50.00 per team (5 players). If you are interested in playing in this tournament, please contact Mark by February 22, 2001.
