Since my plea to get signatures for the Star Wars petition acquired little or no enthusiasm, today I will instead treat you to some insightful glimpses into LA's life:

We encountered her uncle and aunt at Zellers a few weeks back, and as usual her uncle had teasingly derogatory things to say about poor Kenzie (her dog) - including the suggestion that if he were ever asked to look after her, he'd pay a visit to the taxidermist.  LA suggested bringing her uncle to the taxidermist instead.  That way, she could sit him on  her couch and kick him whenever she wanted.  Regretfully, I cannot properly transmit to you the subsequent look on her uncle's face.  He had nothing more to say on the dog subject.

When LA was caught referring to a neighbouring store's operator as a female dog (euphemism), that person marched up to her with the statement 'I heard what you called me.'  I think I might have blushed and stammered an apology.  Instead, LA looked her in the eye and said 'That's because you are.'  So the person in question was the one who blushed and promptly walked out, instead.

LA accused one of her roommates of not spending enough time with their small dog anymore.  'Why, do you beat her when I'm gone?', her roommate asked.  'Yep - [the other roommate] and I pick her up by her hind legs and swing her around to see who'll toss her the farthest.  I've tried and tried to get her over the back fence, but no luck so far!'

LA and I visited a park near my parents' when we were visiting them for the holidays.  When an enormous hill loomed ahead of us, I promised LA we'd find a staircase that led to the top.  Unforunately I was proven wrong - all the steps had been removed (some time ago, apparently - tells you how often I've been back).  Before I could even suggest going the long way around, LA started charging up the hill.  Wet dirt, broken beer bottles and rusty nails couldn't deter her, all the way to the top.

I
love this woman!  :)

Speaking of visiting my parents, it seemed to go very well, including her meeting my grandmother.  My grandma forms the peak of the mountain called 'introducing people to my family'; I wonder whether she'd be flattered to know that?
