Wow - where does a week go?

I've started a collection of empty Sobe bottles to line the top of my kitchen cupboards.  Finally - a very guy thing to do.  I only have four so far, but they look pretty cool to my bizarre, biased eye.

I cooked a nice dinner for myself tonight - took about forty minutes - after doing some grocery shopping that turned into a 'window shop the entire mall' trip.  Caught up on laundry, and dishes.  Listened to a new greatest hits Enigma CD I picked up this weekend.  And talked to LA, of course.

I love her voice.  Her expressions.  Her humour.  I love LA.

Still things I meant to get done and didn't get to; have to do a bit more critique work for tomorrow's class; it's a miracle I handed in a story last week, I can barely find the time to read other people's stuff.

Visited my parents for most of the weekend, and LA before and afterward.  I felt bad at my parents cause I had no energy - I'd totally spent myself driving all crazy hours so I could maximize my LA visiting time.  But I got to see my niece again (she's enormous!  er - I mean she's grown a lot since the last time I saw her) and the rest of the family.  We didn't have our Thanksgiving dinner in the traditional location because of my mom still recovering from her operation, but it was still very nice.

My grandma grilled me about LA.  How old is she?  What colour are her eyes?  Her hair?  What religion?  It was kind of fun, I didn't mind answering her at all.  I think I proved with my quick answers that I really am into this chick, I didn't have to scratch my head at all except the question about what her mom does for work (turns out she's retired, I shoulda remembered that).

All this highway driving really wore me down.  I think I'm almost starting to not like doing it, it's a heck of a long way.  Especially when my tape deck broke down shortly after I left my parents.  It was radio station hunting all the way - CBC Radio mostly, they're pretty good listening actually.  Sign I'm Getting Old #29.   Now I'm going to do the only logical thing about the tape deck I can - ignore it and hope it fixes itself.
