I was planning to do a whole travelogue of my trip to PEI and Nova Scotia, but I'm running into one technical hurdle after another.  This is starting to have a bad ring to it - sort of like when I said I'd be posting my short stories and then ... well, you remember.  Here's the highlights (less the pictures) and maybe I'll be able to do a better job later:

Confederation Bridge: Amazing!  Excellent video at the visitor centre about building it, and a great exhibit on PEI in general.  I was really impressed.

Anne of Green Gables: The house where the author was born; the house that inspired her; the foundation of the house where she wrote her novel, etc.  Wasn't too inspired myself, but I did get to try 'Anne's Raspberry Cordial', which tastes exactly like the old Crush Strawberry pop - do they still make that?

Cavendish Beach: The very best beach on PEI - don't miss it (like we almost did)!  Please obey the signs and stay off the sand dunes, unlike virtually everybody I saw there.

Lunenburg Harbour: Fantastic little town, great scenery and feel to the place.  Didn't check out the museum, but my dad recommends it.

Ovens Park: Just south of Lunenburg.  Sea caves that makes sounds like thunder when the surf comes in - very cool.

Oak Island:
If you ever get onto this island, I'm jealous.  Just a bunch of 'boo, go away' signs when we tried.

Museum of the Atlantic, Halifax: Great exhibits on Titanic, the Halifax Explosion, WW2 convoys, and lots of other cool stuff.

Pier 21, Halifax: Where our boys went off to war and the survivors returned; also where immigrants landed between 1928 and 1971.

Louisbourg Fortress:
Instead of reading plaques you can talk to dressed up actors about life in the fort.  Spent a whole day here.

Cabot Trail: Not as scary as I was led to believe, and fantastic scenery.  Definitely worth the drive, unless you've been spoiled by the Rockies like my parents were.
