Had a good day yesterday with my aunt and her friend, walking around the sites downtown.  Went up to the art gallery as planned, back to the market to visit Oregano's for lunch, then back up Sussex to tour the mint.  I'd done the tour before, but hey, I didn't remember a thing so it wasn't so bad.  Went home with a headache, but I recovered in time for the latter half of writing class, though not in time to get my own story critiqued.  Had a good time chopping somebody else down, though - kidding, I'm kidding.  Geesh!

That leak in my steering fluid has gotten more serious, so I've booked a visit Tuesday afternoon to have it looked at.  Here's hopin' it doesn't get too pricey.  I'm expecting it's just a broken hose or something.  Now I also have to make a dash to the license bureau after work because - lo and behold - discovered this morning that today's the day my vehicle lisence expires, isn't that great?  That's what comes from having these reminders mailed to your old address.

The hydro guys didn't have any trouble finding me - or the cable guys, or the telephone guys.  I've learned how to pay bills over the phone now, so at least I don't have to take time off work just to visit the bank; well, I guess I wouldn't quite have had to do that, but practically.  Seems like every bank closes just as I get off work.

Other than these incidentals, I've covered most of my startup apartment expenses now.  The only significant things still on the list are a nice two-drawer file cabinet, and some nice framed pictures for my walls.  I've already drilled the holes to hang them (anchors and all - no more pictures falling off my walls, thank you), and I have some idea of what I'm looking for.  I like the paintings of wildlife settings, where you see a tiger lurking in the jungle or a bear trudging through a forest - that sort of thing.  I'll stick to forests and jungles for the living area (green), but I could get wolves on a snowy plain or whales underwater for the bedroom (blue).  God, listen to me - I'm embarassed for myself.  Whatever happened to my "buy somethin' cool, who cares" attitude?  Like that Salvador Dali print that caught my eye, or a replacement of my Star Trek poster, or ...  okay, now I know what happened.

But a nice
M.C. Escher print would be cool - wouldn't it?  Just in the bedroom?  Black and white, no colour problems, but cool.  Yeah.
