| Sunday March 17th 2002 Today I've an unusually busy day planned, at least by my standards. I have to start with doing some more work on my financial statement for the lawyer. Then I'm hooking up with a friend to take a look at an apartment or two that I've seen ads for; probably won't find anything today, but it'll put me in the right frame of mind. Then I'm hanging out with said friend and others for the afternoon; they have curling on the brain (AGAIN) and there's some kind of brier being televised this afternoon. Then they're off to do some real curling, so I figure I'll catch a movie, maybe 'Amelie'. I've even a thought of someone I could invite who wouldn't be bored to tears. Never did make that tape yesterday, but the thought is still there. I spent waaay too much time here in my basement yesterday, bashing away at virtual civilizations with a friend on our network. Must - stop - basement - living!!! No problem - pretty soon I won't have any basement! :) Went to the last Sens game I had a ticket for this season, last night against the Islanders. Much better than Thursday's fortunately. Tickets are pretty expensive, even in row R on the third level (ie. very very very farthest row away from the action). But what they say is true, there's no bad seats in the Corel Centre, and for other games we were as close as row M (oooooo!! wow!!). Overall I can't say it wasn't worth the money, although I've heard 67s games (OHL) are a bigger bang for your buck in terms of entertainment. Guess I'll have to try going to one sometime and compare. Had one of those embarassing episodes at the game where you think something is hilariously funny much longer than everybody else. The guy behind was getting irrate about the play, and in one collision of players he shouted 'What is this, a Huggy Bear Christmas?' That got a chuckle out of all of us. Then five minutes later I'm still chuckling, and we're talking about a dead joke people - dead, dead, and everybody else is over it already. Sometimes I really hate the way my imagination takes a joke and runs with it, especially in public. Ah well, at least I'm having fun. It was even worse in my school days. I'd get a scornful look from the teacher, who figured I was sharing some joke with another student. Nope, just me. |
