Instructor's Preflight Checklist

1. Check for frequency flag on radio and proper use of frequency control method.

2. Range check radio.

3. Take wing off, check servo operation, wiring, switch, and antenna.

4. Check control likages, pushrods, and devices for clearance and strength.

5. Check structural Integrity around wing hold-downs.

6. Check tank installation and fuel lines.

7. Check wing integrity and replace the wing.

8. Check the CG of the plane.

9. Check the wing and tail for alignment and warps.

10. Check control hinges and horns.

11. Check landing gear: wheel collars tight, wheels roll free, nose gear strong and with right amount of throw.

12. Check engine mount for strength and engine for proper incidence.

13. Turn on radio and set trims to neutral. Recheck control surface alignment. Check for proper throw and for binding.

14. Check controls for proper direction.

15. Check engine and prop for proper size and for strength.

16. Start engine and check idle and full power.

17. Check for excessive vibration at full power.

18. Hold nose up at full power and check for signs of leaning out.

19. Make a check of all controls at full power.

20. Check that the plane will taxi straight.
