Emissions-reducing technology.
Because the Fource 4-cycle engine design burns primarily gasoline, and not a gasoline/oil mixture, hydrocarbon (HC) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions are reduced by more than 70 percent when compared with a typical 2-cycle engine. This meets all California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emissions requirements for hand-held equipment. It also meets the more stringent 2005 EPA emissions stringent of 37 gms/bhp-hr.

Broader power range.
Four-cycle engines provide more horsepower at lower engine speeds compared to 2-cycle engines. This allows for a more consistent torque curve across a wide range of speeds. As a result, the trimmer maintains its cutting ability even when it meets resistance from thick weeds and grass. The additional power at lower speeds also translates to reduced noise and vibration during operation.

Easier starting.
A 4-cycle engine is started with a simple choke, purge and pull procedure. The combination of Fource engines rotary venturi carburetor and 4-cycle enhanced breathing characteristics allows the engine to start at idle in most conditions, so there's no need to keep the throttle fully depressed. Two-cycle engines require moving the choke to a different locations and pulling the starter rope a certain number of times. Because a 2-cycle engine requires a wide open throttle to start, the operator must keep the throttle fully depressed at all times.

No mixing gas and oil.
In order for 2-cycle engines to operate properly, oil is mixed with the gasoline to lubricate the crankshaft, connecting rod, cylinder walls and other necessary parts. Four-cycle engines do not use an oil-fuel mixture to lubricate the moving parts, which results in a cleaner burning engine.
