I chose an original question that challenged me but that I was able to master.  My question deals with an important issue for society, science or individuals.

I chose a mostly original and important question that was a bit below or above my abilities.

I chose an unoriginal question that I already had a pretty good understanding of prior to this project.

I chose a question that I had already learned about in this or a previous class.

Method

I have shown understanding of and appropriately applied the scientific method.

I usually showed understanding of and appropriately applied the scientific method.

I have shown understanding of and appropriately applied the scientific method.

I appear not to understand the scientific method.

Results

My results were of high quality and I interpreted them well.

My results were pretty good and I interpreted them ok.

My results and interpretation  were of ok quality.

My results and explanation  were of low quality

Research

I researched my topic thoroughly and found lots of information in various formats (WWW, books, articles) suited to my level.

I researched my topic well and found more than three sources mostly on the web. Most of my sources were at the right level for me.

I researched my topic a bit and found three or four web sources.  A few of my sources were at the right level.

I did a little research on my topic and found three web sources which were either too easy or difficult for me.

Understanding

I understood my question, method and the science underlying them well and was able to show what I learned and did.

I mostly understood my project and was able to show what I learned.

I understood some of my project and showed some of what I knew.

I understood little of my project.

Explanation and presentation

My presentation was accurate, clear and interesting.

My presentation was usually accurate, clear and interesting.
