Looking up from Routeburn Flats (Hut in foreground) towards the higher part of the walk where the path took you to Routeburn Falls Hut.

Enjoying the red wine out of my mug in the afternoon sun! The flat bit at the bottom is Routeburn flat where we walked up from.

The scenery changed dramatically above the tree line. The major valley on the left of the photo is where we were the day before.

Grrrrr. I thought we'd escaped having to trek through this stuff. Into the damn cloud as well.

Lake Mackenzie was the halfway point for the whole trek and for our day 2. The building visible is the fully-booked hut. If the weather was nicer we'd have swum in that lake.
