Dra. Lucia Nieva was born on February 21, 1952 in Boljo-on Cebu, Philippines. She spent all her school days in her hometown since the time she started schooling until the time she finished her medical degree. After which she had her post-graduate internship at the Mary Johnston Hospital in Manila. She also earned MBA units from the Central Colleges of the Philippines.

She has been connected with SQ Film Laboratories Inc. as company physician. She is also the Medical Director of Morishita-Siggs Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 1983 to present. Since March 1989 up to the present time, serves as a faculty member of the College of Optometry. She teaches General Pharmacology, Ocular Pharmacology, Human Physiology, Neuro-Anatomy & Physiology, Health Care and Biochemistry.

She is also the Chairman of the Service Subcommittee on Ocular Drugs as appointed by the Philippine Society of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology.

She is currently a member of the following organizations : Philippine Society of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology , Philippine Academy of Family Physicians , Philippine Medical Association , Manila Medical Society, Philippine College of Pharmaceutical Medicine and the Private School Health Officers Association.
