 VIVENCIO NIEVA, M.D.

Born in Baler, Aurora (formerly Tayabas/Quezon, he spent his elementary school days at the Baler Elementary School, his high school days at the Mt. carmel colege- High School Department. For his premedical education, he enrolled at the college of Science, University of Sto. Tomas where he obtained his B.S. General Course (PreMed) and later finished his Medical Degree at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, UST. He spent his post-grduate internship at the Mary Johnston Hospital 1973-74, and passed the Complete Physicians Board Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission in June, 1974, and was granted the Medical Licensure in November 15, 1974. He started his Residency Training in General surgery on January, 1975 and finished in December, 1978 as the Surgery Department and Hospital Chief Resident. He passed the Part I- Written Examination given by the Philippine Board of Surgery in 1992. He also has a certificate of training in Occupational Health and Public Safety given by the UP Institute of Public Health in 1992.

At present, he is a consultant in General Surgery at the Mary Johnston Hospital, a company physician of the WG&A, Philippines, the Fast Cargo Logistic Corporation and the Cebu Industrial and Marine Engineering Corporation. He also teaches at the PCU-Mary Johnston College of Nursing (since 1980, CCP- College of Optometry (since 1984) and the Mary Johnston College ( BS Physical therapy, Respiratory therapy and Graduate in Midwifery) since 1994. He is also a lecturer at the Nursing Service Office of MJH.
