Dr. Carmen F. Abesamis is Director of the Centre for Cornea and Contact Lens Research of the College of Optometry of the Central Colleges of the Philippines. She is a graduate of the same institution, where she is now a Professor. She is also a member of the staff of the Contact Lens Clinic of the University of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital. She is a member of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators ( IACLE ). She has undergone the Educator Fellowship Program of IACLE at the School of Optometry, University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Until present time, she is a faculty member of the College of Optometry and handles the subjects : Theoretical Optometry, Clinic & Conference and Contact Lens Clinic.

She maintains her private practice in the city of Makati, Philippines.
