~Poems~
I was born and raised and have lived my life in the state of North Carolina. I am the Mother of two children and have five grandchildren. I am a widow, self supporting, and the primary care-giver for my parents who were divorced approximately 30 years ago. I have enjoyed writing since early high school, and have recently enjoyed sharing my writngs through the internet. |
What must I do, I heard someone say,
To be a witness for Jesus today.
I hope it's not much, I'm busy today.
For after all, I'm just a vessel of clay.
I'm just a vessel of clay.
Where must I go, and why can't I stay,
Maybe tomorrow or the next day.
Time is so short, and slipping away.
Don't expect much of this vessel of clay.
I'm just a vessel of clay.
What words can I speak, what could I say,
No one would listen to me anyway.
So what's the use, I cannot obey.
He must realize, I'm just a vessel of clay.
A vessel of clay, I heard Jesus say.
But you can be more, if you will obey.
My Spirit will fill you, and teach you to pray.
You will be a victorious vessel of clay.
I'm just a vessel of clay.
I'm a victorious vessel of clay.

Gaze into my eyes
The windows to my soul.
Where I cannot disguise
The part of me that's whole.
Look deep into my heart
You'll see a story there.
How it's been torn apart
By those who did not care.
Now glimpse into my mind
It holds the word of life.
I won't be left behind
In this world of greed and strife.
Go down into my soul
To find the one that's new.
The heart has been made whole
Because God's Word is true.
Now look into the mirror,
What image do you see?
The day of Christ draws nearer,
Prepare to go with me.
