The Author:

Hi, I have been a forgiven child of God's for 13 years now. I love the Lord and want to do His will. My favorite thing to do is  to sing for my Lord and Savior. I also like to write songs, poems, and childrens stories. God has brought me a long way from where I used to be. My poems used to be dark. I was a victim of sexual abuse form a very small child to about 15 years of age. Then I married a man I had known all my life. In our first few years of marriage he became abusive to me. I turned from God and became a duel addict in my early twenties. One day I was drunk and drugged up walking the streets where I live. My friend found me about to cross a busy four lane highway. I have no idea what I was planning to do. All I know is, that by the Grace of God, if she hadn't found me I probably would have died that night. God wasn't finished with me though. She talked me into going on an Alcoholic and drug unit in the area... I did and that is where I found Jesus again!

I began doing my calling, that He had given me years ago before I turned from Him, Singing. A friend and I started singing together. We are called Undivided Heart.Shortly after one of my sisters joined to make a trio.A few years ago my friend, of the trio, was in a car wreck. She also is diabetic and had to quit traveling. Other things have put a stop to our traveling right now. But when and if it be God's will, we will be out there again my sister and I as a duet!

Please pray with and for us as we strive to do His will, in His time.  Any-way now my writtings are bright because of the love of my Heavenly Father in my heart and Life. I love Him dearly and strive to be more like Him each day.

YSIC, Betty Jean

What Would Jesus Do

A tattered old coat, some old worn out shoes.
Holes in his gloves, fingers turning blue.
"Just a bite to eat!" cried the old man on the street.
I turned from him not thinking,What would Jesus do?

One cold Sunday morning, I looked from my pew.
The man from the street, with his old worn out shoes,
had come through the door, twas a snicker or two.
Was anyone thinking, What would Jesus do?

No one went to greet him, as he wondered down the isle.
Their thoughts...don't sit near me, as he paused for awhile.
There's a place... in the corner, left for the likes of you!
No one was thinking, What would Jesus do.

Today in the paper, twas so hard to view.
They found the old man, frozen and blue.
"Father forgive me, I could have been used."
I should have remembered, What would Jesus do?

As a sinner lost and dying, I came to Him one day.
What if He had turned and left me,
dying and hungry for, The Way.

Many souls have need for Jesus, We must accept them as He does.
It doesn't matter the situation, we must love them as He loves.

As His child I must show them, He cares so very much.
Through me I pray that all can feel, the Masters loving touch.

Before I speak, act or think some aweful thought of you.
I pray I'll ask myself this question,
What would Jesus do?

The Victory Is Won!!!

I've been struggling through a trial,
the battles deep within.
The darkness surrounds me, evil spirits want to win.
The sword of despair peirce my heart and my soul.
My spirit seems to weaken 'neath the harshness of their blow.

The way seems to be dimming, There are shadows all around.
Satan and his demons try to take me down.
So heavy this darkness they taunt me with
my past,
encompassed by confusion...How long will this time last?

Then under this burden, I'm brought to my knees.
Tears streaming down, He hears my deperate pleas.
"Have mercy on your child, this burden I can't bare alone..."
Then the darkness fades away, a voice from
Heav'n proclaims  "My child lift up your head, I've been here all along."

The victory is won!
I conquered death at Calvary,
I gave my life that you'd be free,
I know my child, you've giv'n your life to Me.
So the victory is won!
Remember, I'll leave you not alone,
I'll carry you unto the Father's throne.
The victory is won,
Oh victory in Jesus,
the victory is WON!

A Matter Of Time

If sometimes your days seem dreary,
with the burdens you must bare.
With the world so full of hatred,
seems there's just no one who cares.
Just remember in the Bible
Jesus said there'd come a day,
When He'd come to take His children,
to a home far away.

The time is drawing nearer
for my Jesus to return.
Oftentimes I get excited
for His coming I long and yearn.
Can't you see Him there decending,
on the cloud of pearly white?
Don't you feel that great excitement,
see His Glory shining bright.

He could come this very moment
of the day...Oh what a sight!
I don't know when we'll be leaving,
to take our final flight.
Oh be ready  be watching,
For it may, yes it just might,
be the time for His appearing,
when we'll be victor's, we've won the fight!

It's gonna be just a matter of time.
Before the trumpet will sound,
and the Son's gonna shine.
And He shall reign with a crown,
a royal diadem.
Not a crown of thrones,
when the Son shines again.

A Child's Dream

I'd like to take a walk,
just Jesus and me.
And hear Him tell the story,
How Zacchaeus climbed the tree.
We'd watch the wild birds,
then laugh with glee.
When we see the little squirrles
playing merrily.

He'd take my hand
and lead me all about.
Then when I get tired,
We'd sit upon the ground.

He'd gently lift me up,
and sit me on His knee.
Then He'd playfuly tickle me.
We'd giggle and laugh,
and tumble all about...
Just about then, I hear my Mommy shout.
Betty Jean, it's time to come in from play,
and that ends my dreaming for the day.

(Put your name in place of mine, and go
have a day with Jesus. You are His child!!!)
AMEN!

Salvation's Plan

A babe, Pure innocence.
Young child, grown man.
The wonders of God,
God's Son and His plan.

The crown, The cross.
The stone, The tomb.
The wonders of God?
Some wondered in gloom.

Three day's, an earthquake.
The stone rolled away.
The wonders of God?
Still some questioned that day.

This is God's plan for salvation.
God's Son, The one spotless Lamb.
Gave up His life for each one of us,
Why can't the world understand?

He ate, showed the scars,
On His side, in His hands.
The wonders of God,
Now some understand.

Forty day's, the ascension.
The clouds, The sky.
The wonders of God,
The disciples stood by.

Upper room, Pentecost,
Mighty winds bringing wonderment.
The wonders of God,
The Holy Spirit was sent.

This is the plan for salvation,
Divine, complete inner peace.
Sending His Spirit to live in our hearts,
Imprisoned souls find release.

The altar, repentence.
A soul bowed in shame.
The wonders of God,
To be reborn in His Name.
The wonders of God,
I've been reborn in His Name!
