The Wedding Feast

The Author:
I am 27 years old.  I have a son who is my inspiration, he is one and a half.  Because of him, I rededicated my life to Christ and am living it solely for God now.  I have written poetry/songs for quite a while now as a release of tension from day to day and as an expression of my feelings.

THE WEDDING FEAST

I want a special dress, all arraigned with white,
But I need to lose a few pounds, I've put on with time.
I need to change my make-up, I want a softer look,
So I found it in the Bible, the greatest little handbook.
My hair was such a mess, all tangled and so mamed,
Softly He took it and combed it, 'til finally it tamed.
He trimmed some dead-ends, that they may grow anew,
He toned the gloomy locks and gave them a softer hue.
The pounds I've really worked at, the feast of sin, so hard to lose,
But with vigorous exercise and regular "a- toning" I've finally lost them
too.
The scars and blemishes of life, have gone through cosmetic surgery,
After time, He mended them too, with HIs wondrous mercy.
I went back to try on my dress, it was just the perfect size,
So I signed the Guest Book, it was called, "The Book of Life."
The door was opened widely and there I plainly saw,
My bridegroom with arms wide open, it was worth it all.
For you see, it took some time, to make such changes in me,
But with God's help I'm ready to sit at the loveliest feast.
