    Carolyn's Music Ministry Testimony

When I first started playing piano for my church in 1985, I had no experience playing for a congregation. I knew how to play classical guitar, the flute  and had taken one semester of piano lessons from my local community college.  I had lots of experience singing for the Lord, but none as a church musician.

With the urging of my pastor, a pianist at my church decided to give me free gospel piano lessons.  It was only a distant dream that I could ever play for a choir -- let alone direct and teach one.  I only knew how to play 3 gospel songs when my free gospel piano lessons ended.

Then it happened.  One Sunday morning, our scheduled church musician didn't show up.  One of the choir members said, you could play the piano for us.  Normally, I would have been terrified at the thought.  But praise God, I didn't feel any fear and I decided to go to the piano.  Since it was prayer time, I decided to play "Precious Lord, take my hand."

You know, little becomes much when you place it in the Master's hands. I've been playing the piano for Jesus ever since.
