Hamburger Pie
1 lb of ground beef, your choice
1 medium onion, chopped
3/4 teaspoon of salt
dash of pepper
1 1-pound cut green bean , french cut is ok, canned, drained
1 can of tomatoe soup
5 medium potatoes cooked*
1/2 cup of warmed milk*
1 beaten egg
heat oven at 350 degrees
Lightly brown meat; add onion,cook till just tender, Add seasonings, beans and soup; pour into greased pan1 1/2 -quart casserole dish.  Mash hot potaoes; add milk and egg.  Season Drop in mounds over meat if desire, also if desire sprinkle with 1/2 cup of processed cheese. 
*or, omit potato mounds and use biscuit topper; prepare 1 recipe baking powder biscuits.  Heat casserole mixture till bubbling; pour into casserole; top hot mixture with biscuits bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes till biscuits are done. 
Spaghtti and Meat Balls
(Casserole)
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove of garlic
3 tablespoons of olive or salad oil
2-1lb cans of tomatoes
2-6 ounce cans of tomatoe paste
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons of crushed oragano
1 bay leaf
1 recipe Italian meat balls
hot cooked spaghtti
Cook onion and garlic in hot oil till tender but not brown.  STir in the next 8 ingredences.  Simmer uncovered 30 minutes; remove bay leaf.  Add Italian meat ball recipe (below) and continue cooking longer.  Serve over hot spagehitti.  Romano or parmesan cheese is good for those who like it.  Makes good serving for 6
Italian Meat Balls
4 slices of dry bread
1 pound of fround beef
2 eggs
1/2 cup of grated Romano cheese
2 table spoons of chopped parsly
1 clove of garlic , minced
1 teaspoon of crushed oragano
1 teaspoon of salt
dash of pepper
Soak bread in water 2-3 minutes,then squeeze out moisture.  Combinesoaked bread with remaining ingredence, mix well
forn into balls (about 20)Brown slowly in 2 table spoon of hot olive oil.  Add to sauce and cook 30 minutes as directed above

Chilli Con Carne
* 1 1/2 cup of red or kidney beans
1 large onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper , chopped
1 lb of ground beef
1 1lb can of tomatoes
1 8 onunce can of seasoned tomato sauce
1 -1 1/2 tablespoons of chilli powder
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1 bay leaf
rinse beans ; then add to 1 1/2 quarts of water and let stand overnight. add 1 teaspoon of salt to beans and the soaking water, cover , simmer till tender about 1 hr.  Drain reserving the bean liquid.  Brown onion , green pepper and meat in a little hot oil or fat.  Add beans tomatoes, tomato sauce, chilli powder, salt, bayleaf, dash of paprika and a dash of cayenne.  Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrsAdding water as needed.  Makes 5 servings.
*Or use 2 one lb cans red or kidney beans.  Drain beans and add to meat and tomato mixture.
