Statement of Education
I have chosen, with my husband, to home school our children.  I believe that a dedicated parent, whether formally trained in education or not, can offer her child an excellent chance to learn in a non-threatening environment.  A parent educator must conscientiously employ a comprehensive program that gives the child ample opportunity to experience a variety of subject areas.  I find the home environment to be a great place to permit a child to succeed and fail on his own turf.  I personally strive to include a strong Christian background in our daily plans.

What I look for during an evaluation
1. Organization of information.  Is it easy for an outsider to understand?
2. Many examples of the child's work.
3. A clear account of the days logged.  Superintendents usually want to be able to add these up quickly.  A page with the date written then marked as a day is fine.
    ex. 9/21-1  9/22-1  9/23-5  9/24-sick
(have medical records handy for superintendents too)
4. Be able to show improvement in the subject areas.  Math pre and post tests are nice as are writting samples.
