Into The Light

Today I decided I would change my journal pages from a black background to a white one,  and in doing so,  change the look and feel of this cyber sanctuary of mine.

I suppose I need to make things in my life seem as "sunny and airy" as possible,  considering all the negative things that have happened to me lately,   I thought I would at least make my journal appear a bit more light and cheerful.

Living in San Diego,  the weather on a great day is generally warm and sunny with temperatures between 72 and 80 degrees,  with hardly any humidity at all.   It seems to be the ideal climate today,  when things are nice and sunny like this.

I've been getting back into composing again.   Working out some ideas on the MIDI sequencer.    I don't have any new band projects yet,  but I did get a few calls today.   Things may be looking up...

I have this incredible urge to redo the solo album I created,  and I'm sure as with anyone who jumps into composing,  the temptation to redo things is sometimes far too great,  but it's sometimes better off to leave things alone when they are initially completed.

I got a call from a popular Rockabilly band in town,  asking me to go on a short 2 week tour with them,  and although they are a great band  (winning the San Diego Music Awards many times over),  I thought it wasn't worth the effort for me at this time,  with the way things are going.

And being a family man,  I'm just trying to weigh in all the facts concerning a tour at this point,  and if it is worth having my family make the sacrifice with me being gone for two weeks.

Well,  on a bright note,  the bandleader  said he was still interested in using me when they got back from the tour.   He too was puzzled at the circumstances surrounding my being "let go" from the other band.   He gave me many compliments about my drumming and I told him how thankful I was for such words of kindness.
