Pest Control The "pest control" guy came this morning at 9am. He did his usual monthly service. We had tree rats in our house before he started spraying and setting traps. Our backyard overlooks a canyon and our community has lots of trees, so that we get all sorts of "wildlife" even though we are in the suburbs. I took it easy again today, since we had a private party to do tonight in Carlsbad. I started feeling like I was going to get the flu bug. My sister-in-law and her family came down from Santa Barbara this past weekend and they casually mentioned that they all were hit by the flu bug. Now, here I am beginning to feel ill. The gig in Carlsbad was uneventful. The audience was not into our music and we were treated as background music. That's okay with me... I know these types of gigs our usually like that. I remember when we performed at the NAMM show, Luis Conte and his Salsa band were jamming the Latin music like you wouldn't believe. Luis Conte is a top studio percussionist who's played with everyone from Jackson Browne to Madonna. No one acknowledge his performance. He too was treated like background music, so I know how these gigs go. We only played two 45 minute sets and we
were out of there. By the time we were finished with our gig
I knew I was really sick, so I just took my time packing up and getting
out of there.
