One Fine Morning
It was a fine morning today!   Weather-wise everything seemed just right.   The sun was bright yet it wasn't hot,  there was a slight breeze but it wasn't chilly.   It was a nice,  fine morning.  Same routine as yesterday.

Out To Lunch
I had lunch with my wife today.   One of the ways we cope with my band schedule is to got out to lunch often at a nice restaurant.

We went to a nice little establishment known as The Adams Avenue Grill,  which was highly recommended by one of my wife's co-workers.

It was funny,  but although I am a native San Diegan,  It just so happened that I'd never been in this part of San Diego, in a place called University Heights where The Adams Avenue Grill was located.

Anyway,  when we got there I was impressed by the charm of this place.   I ordered something called a Salad A Go-Go,  a large salad with grilled chicken breast,  penne pasta, herbs and spices in a light vinaigrette dressing and some garlic bread squares and the side.   My wife had the Blue Cheese Chicken Wrap with a large green salad and light dressing.   For dessert I had the chocolate marble cheesecake,  and my wife had this french pastry of which I can't recall the name.   The cheesecake was superb.  I could not for the life of me finish this one slice,  so I had it boxed...    that was some rich cheesecake!!!   All in all,  the food was excellent and I was very impressed with the way the food was arranged on the plate.  That visual thing,  the way in which food is displayed can truly be a work of art.

Band Photo Shoot
The band did another photo shoot at the Mississippi Room,  the same place we did our famous shot with the shell stage.   Here's the original shot at the Mississippi Ballroom,  actually it's not the original,  but rather the first shot in which I was with the band.

Family Time
I was able to really talk with my sons today....   I mean,  just talk about stuff,  about school and what projects they're doing.   I'm getting to the point where I can talk to them as if they were my buddies.   I think that's a good thing.   I want them to be comfortable with me and look to me as a friend as well.   My boys are becoming more articulate and so they can express themselves more freely,  and we can connect on various topics of discussion.

My eldest son wants to play trombone like Shannon in our band.   We're keeping an eye out for a used student model trombone.   Either way,  next year he'll be able to take up an instrument at school and he'll probably acquire a school instrument then.   It's amazing how kids are so impressionable,  especially when it comes to music.   My eldest son plays our CD a lot and keeps listening repeatedly to Bugle Call Rag,  and he likes to listen to Shannon's brief trombone solo on the tune.   It's just the funniest thing,  my son returning to the CD player and repeating the song,  over and over again.   It reminds me of the time when I was a kid,  playing this one 45 until it was totally worn out.

My youngest son appears pretty bright,  and he even corrects me when I do something or say something wrong.   Sheesh,  at least he has a good attitude about it.   He's the most outgoing of the two boys.   He has several friends outside of his regular first grade class...  now that to me is very impressive!   I was always an introvert kid and kept to myself,  so he didn't get those genes from me,  I don't think.

Let's Get Organized
I've been trying to clean up one room,  and that's our study room,  or library room.   It's where we keep our computer,  so sometimes we just call it the computer room.

But I've been seriously going through everything and sorting out stuff to trash and organize the stuff I want to keep.   I borrowed a CD from the library a while back,  and now I found it!   I guess I'd better return this soon since it's overdue.
