A Day In The Life...   A Day Off!

I helped my wife get the kids ready for school.   As usual,  the older one took the bus and my wife helped see him off to school.   My main responsibility was the younger one and I got him ready for school.

I drove our new BMW and was going to drop off my son at his school and my wife at her work.   When we got to the school we noticed that there was no one there!   We then noticed that the school marquee posted that this week was Thanksgiving vacation for the school  (it is a year-round school).   We were pleasantly surprised!

Anyway,  my son and I dropped off Mom at her work,  and me and the little guy went to get gas for our car and also have it washed at the car wash.

After that,  he wanted to play with his cousin,  so I dropped him off at my sister-in-law's house.

I got back to the house and tried to go through email for a while and gave up after reading a few hundred messages.  I still had a thousand plus to go through.   I then had some lunch and then got back on the computer to work on my websites.

After doing some chores around the house,  my older son rang the doorbell...   he had come home from school and he also wanted to go to his cousin's,  which was perfect because my wife and I had a parent-teacher conference with my older son's teacher.

I went to pick up my wife and we both went to the conference.   It went well...   his report card showed that he was above average and that he excelled in mathematics,  spelling,  and science.   He did need some improvement in reading and writing.   But overall he did well and we were proud of him.

After the conference we picked up a few things at the supermarket,  then picked up the kids and then went home and had some dinner.

I was able to help out with the homework tonight,  which is something I rarely am able to do because I'm always gigging.   My younger son loves to work on the computer sometimes and he had an art CD-ROM that he loves to mess around with.   He printed a picture he made of some flowers and then gave it to his mom  (very cute!)

After watching Ally McBeal and a Dave Letterman Special on TV,  I got to the computer when my son was done and checked email and worked on the website.

It had turned out to be a nice family oriented day without any thoughts whatsoever of the band.   It was a nice day off!
