"According to available information, the first Keeshond in Canada was imported by Miss M. E. Butler of Montreal from Evelode Kennels in England. Alex of Evenlode was registered in 1929. Another of Miss Bultler's dogs, David of Evenlode, became the first Keeshond to win his championship in Canada."In 1933 Miss Hilda White of Toronto showed seven Keeshonds at a show in Ontario. Miss Alice Tool of West Calgary, Alberta, registed six Keeshonds in 1937." Information taken from The New Complete Keeshond by Carol and Ron Cash.
Over the years the Canadian Kennel Club has kept records of the number of dogs in each breed that have been registered with them. Below are the statistics as they relate to the Keeshond breed.
This information needs to be researched at the offices of the CKC. If anyone living in their general vacinity would volunteer to look up these statistics, it would be greatly appreciated.
