Carl Barks,the "Duck Man"

Carl Barks, writer of hundreds of stories with Donald Duck, his nephews and "Unca Scrooge", is probably the best all-around fiction writer I have ever read.
Carl Barks wrote very interesting stories of Uncle Scrooge's (the richest duck in the world) many adventures in America as well as foreign lands, underseas, and even in outer space.
A lot of places and ideas inspired the duck adventures and I made better grades in elementary school geographies because I already knew about some of those places before studying them in school, due to reading Bark's stories.
Barks illustrated many happenings of the time also, and as I reread them now, I can relive those days, such as when satelites were in their infancy.  I remember a story where Donald and his nephews wanted Uncle Scrooge to watch a tv program about a satelite transmission.  That was big news !
I suppose my favorite story is "The Flying Dutchman" by Carl Barks, about the ducks embarking on a treasure hunt but having an unexpected confrontation with the legendary ghost ship!  I love stormy sea stories and this one is the best I have ever read, not just from comic stories but of any stories.

Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck, and the nephews are trademarks of the Walt Disney Company.
