Recommended Reading List

Here are a few of the books that I think people should be exposed to at a undergraduate level.  Most of these are intended for people majoring in the biological sciences... I'll try to keep them grouped by subject/ area of interest

General Biology

On the Origin of Species
Darwin, Charles
*The* biology book.  Must read for yourself.  Really Good.  Read the 1st edition (reprinted in the Harvard University Press Edition).  Later editions not as good.
The Selfish Gene
Dawkins, Richard
A classic in biology, and an excellent introduction to many of the theories you'll hear about over and over in your biology classes.  I do NOT like Richard Dawkins himself (due to his frequent attacks on religion), but his book is worth reading.
