Thousand Oaks California Running Routes
1. Wildwood Park
While at Wildwood the team runs many different routes.
The runs are all dirt trails some flat and some with hills. Some of
the routes are
1. Water treatment- Is
a run through the whole park to a water treatment plant the run takes
roughly 70 minutes. One of the hardest runs.
2. Santa Rosa- Is one of my
favorite runs because it is a hilly route. The first half of the run
is all hills and it is a killer it is about 45 minutes.
3. Great Quads Of Fire- Based on
the name one would think this is a horrible run and yes I would have to
agree with you. it is only a 50 minute run but it is has a steep 400
Meter climb. The rest of it is a rolling course. It takes about
50 minutes.
4. Waterfall- This is a pretty easy
run it is a nice flat run most of the way doesn't take to long either.
2. Road Routes
In Thousand Oaks there are no "flat runs" it is always
seeming that we are running up or down hills. The roads are no
exception
1. Peterson Loop- This is a
fairly easy loop it is a good loop because going out there is a slight
incline but coming back it is all down hilll so you can really fly
2. Soccer Fields When running
here there is a speed workout coming your way it is about 3 miles out
nothing special.
3. Equestrian Park- Yea
Again this means another speed workout is coming but yet it is not as far
away as the soccer fields
4. YMCA I'm putt this
run in the road routes although it is a dirt trail for most of the way the
beginning is hilly going up the CLU hills but all and all a not to bad run.
5. Janss Loop Seemingly my
favorite route on the road it is what i call a perfect run because it is not
to short but yet not to far.
6. Flores Loop Depending on
who you talk to this is different to the guys it is one way to the girls it
is another. The flores loop is an easy 30 minute run.
7. Highschool- if you run to the high school
your in for long speed repeats
3. Chesbro Canyon
Chesbro Canyon is a weekend place that we go to that
is a dirt trail. you can do a short run or a long long run. It is an
out and back place. the worst part about this place is when you enter
the "Desert" it comes out from this cool stream and all of a sudden your
running through sand and it just got 20 degrees warmer and all there I is
cactus and desert plants it is really strange
4. Sycamore Canyon.
Sycamore Canyon is another weekend run place that we
go to and it is a dirt trail. Mostly this is an out and back place but
you can do a loop if you do 14 miles. it is really close to the water so
afterwards there is a cool soak. depending where you run you could run up
massive hills or take a flat run.
5. San Buenaventura Beach
This is a weekend trip sometimes and wow it is flat
and next to the ocean this is where we do our long runs. it is an out and
back trail.
