Coming into Plaisance, I am reminded that I should not be too rough on the route between Opelousas and Ville Platte. At the crawfish sign, take a left, west, and check out the old house. It is still a viable residence if someone will save it. The tree sets the stage on which the house sits.
Notice the outside steps going to the second floor from the side porch. This is different. In the standard Cajun cottage, the steps are on the front porch. This place evidently has a large second floor. Traditionally, the children slept there.
