I left the map page up so you could follow along as my route is a great one. Not all of them are despite my world class knowledge of the area.
Upon reaching US 190, I went east and turned up La.743, a very nice road. Go slow through the little community and then enjoy the curves which follow the Little Teche which affords many Kodak moments which are shown elsewhere in the "magazine".
Some jerk was on my tail and I came to the 90 degree turn that heads north. At that point I blew his mind and accelerated, going straight across the bayou which follows one of my favorite 2 miles of gravel road from the opposite side of the bayou from 743.
My finger is itchie, should I pull the trigger? Naw.
The gravel road, Ortego (are tay go) runs into what will be US 167 if you take a left. Go right and you rejoin 743 as it goes to Washington or LeBeau, your decision. You are at a crossroads offering two great rides going into two completely different Louisianas. It is a place of contemplation. If your are in need, there is a church just down the way.
