Obviously the date is wrong on the pictures, but it does reflect the weather on this 4th of February day.
The Sunday, February 4th Ride
After becoming brain dead from hours of Captain Cornay research, it was time for a ride in the country with no particular place to go and no mission to pursue. I felt like being in the pine trees which meant aiming for the lands north and west of Ville Platte (Louisiana, for all the out-of-state folks). Pine trees are evergreens and this time of year requires a periodic injection of that color, thus the background on these pages. Being that there was no purpose or mission, there is not much to say here, so, let's get on with the ride.

The yellow line is where I went. Notice the "conjestion" of roads south of Ville Platte. Farms vs. forest.
Leonville Rd.
When I arrived in Leonville, I went to the Catholic Church which was just letting out. Now there's a herd you don't want to get in front of. It is where Church Road begins or ends, appropriately. Church runs through a neighborhood and then breaks out into the country. It is a favorite of mine despite the occational chug hole. It follows Bayou Teche and is strickly farm land with an occationl old building to wonder at, which you know is also a favorite thing of mine.
There's a sub-group that reads this thing and they demand "barn pictures". To get them off my back, thus reducing the number of nasty e-mails I get, here's your barns, Bubbas. Any other Bubbas out there? Please do not be offended. They call their group the "Barn Bubbas", no kidding. Fred started the group. Way to go Fred.
I could go on about the symbolism a picture of an old house portrays. That, of course, would solicit misting up and drawing yourself into deep reflection of man's mortality. Not this time. Be prepared, I might pull that gun at any time.
Here's another one, Bubbas. I hope I'm paid up by now.
Church rejoins La.103. I turned off Church onto Jennings Road which, after a short stretch, will take you to US 190, just east of Opelousas, west of Port Barre.
