(Global E-net Osaka) - The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is working on a project to increase foreign investment in Japan known as the "Promotion and advancement of foreign direct investment within Japan." The project was initiated to provide support for the revival and further development of industries. The Osaka Prefectural Government, Osaka City, Higashi Osaka City, Ibaraki City and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry submitted joint proposals on which industries to promote foreign investment.
The biotechnology and manufacturing sectors were selected as areas where investment from foreign countries should be promoted.
Drafts for the selection of enterprises and investment attraction strategies are currently being drawn up. Other preparatory matters include the hiring of foreign staff, establishment and mission of the company and taxation decisions, etc. are being carried out.
