802-the apartment

Dawn is walking down the streets of Rome quietly. she returns to the new apartment in which Buffy, Xander and her are arranging. she has just fitted in her new school, and she insisted with her sister to manage all alone. she goes hair to the wind, by constantly looking at these marvellous buildings which surround her, she doen't used to see that  kind of architecture. But, having the head raised towards the sky, Dawn led in a dead end. she is lost in the city. she approaches two monks who discuss the face hidden under their hood, and try to speak  some words in doubtful Italian. One of the two monks raises the head, smiles to her  while the second one is slightly released behind her. His smile, is the last thing which she sees before disappearing, violently run up against the nape of the neck by the second monk. They transport her in their cave at the bottom of the dead end, and disappear, behind a hurdy-gurdy carries out of wood squeaking.

The apartment is in a very old 5 floors building , the architecture is curious, the large door of entry, makes think of a  big yawning mouth ! This building would have freeze everyone, but not them. More,  when they took the keys of their apartment, the real estate agent had a satisfied air as somebody who one removes a splinter... But that did anything to them, they was so glad to find one  so quickly " their home sweet home" for such an accessible rent.

Buffy and Xander went to do some shopping. Whereas they are going up the stairs, they cross on the stage a quite extrovert girl , a beat hyppi, with  very long and brown hair, blue eyes, hidden behind small glasses round with pink glasses.

"Hello I am  Marie, you are new in the building? aren't you"

Xander: Yes since 3 days. I am xander and here is Buffy.

Marie: welcome at the insane ones!!

Buffy: What?

Marie: No ! I'm kidding.  Life is so sweat here. I can feel something with you.  May I take your hands?

Buffy and xander gave their hands with Marie in a friendly way

"dont  fear anything I am medium. Then she looks at Buffy and says , in your heart a blondy man, but he lives far away. "

Buffy withdraws her hand out of  Marie's one and says to her

" I regret, but the man you'are talking about  IS not, not any more "

Marie : " oups that  always tangles!! "

ThenBuffy gets home, and Marie who were  still holding  Xander's hand,  turned over towards him with a darkened glance and says to him" It's so  sad, I am sorry for you" then release his hand and return to her apartement.

Xander remains one moment on the stage, he rubs the hand, and ends up also returning him, dubitative.

Xander: Curious girl, isn't she?

Buffy answers him while arranging food, "As she said, welcome at the insane ones? "Then she makes him a horrible face. They start to laughing, but Xander stops abruptly and adds: "She said something weard to me  while leaving, I wonder whether she has not seen in me? "

" She has misled, you heard like me? I think she is most crazy than medium" Then seeing that her sister was not in her bed room buffy says "...But What's goin on with Dawn, She should already have returned. Let us go to meet her, I do not like to only know her alone in a city that she doesn't realy know ".

Somewhere...

 Dawn is wering a white toga, her hair are carefully braided and gone up in chignon on her head. she is connected in a part where a few tens of priest are devoted to incantations in old Greek.

Buffy and Xander slowly go shoulder against shoulder towards Dawn's school, they discuss. That fell the night. Xander take a deep breathing and says "I believe that I will like myself here." And changing subject completely, Buffy answers him. "Finally it was a release for both."

"You still think of him?"

"I do not manage yet to forget, but I know that It will come."

 "why do you speak about release? You loved him finally?"

 she sighs "I still hide it. that is a release because he does not suffer any more his love for me and that me I do not suffer any more to push back him.

then after short silence " In fact I think I could not have resisted his love longer, we have been so close..."

"I've never liked him...But I must admit that what he did...waou, it was amazing...especially from spike!"

Buffy respected xander thinking about Spike, because of what happened with anya, she had been so hurted too...

Xander, timidly point out to her:"may be it's  true?"

"What?"

 "He still alive."

"I saw him dying I point out it to you."

"yes but there was first this girl on the road, then Marie what she said to you that was disconcerting."

 "You are talking about  delirious from a psychotic slayer and from a medium of operetta, let us go considered. And then as I said  to you, that is better like that for him as for me."

 Then they stop walking and realize that they were automatically come in a cemetery like good old days of the patrols. They  looked  all together with complicity.

Suddenly appeared behind xander a vampire, which seized him in the neck, Buffy  assene to the bloody sucker a violent blow of fist in the muzzle, it released Xander, who felt to knees, suffocating by  helding his throat. In his fall the vamprie  snatched the stringcourse which hided his eye. Buffy got out of her jacket a pile which she had taken automatically, Posed her fist on the ground, sweeps the leg of the vampire to make him lie down, and pulverizeed it even before  as it did  touch the ground. She  raised, rubed her knees, replaceed the piles in her jacket, and leaned again to collect the stringcourse of Xander. she tightened it in a friendly way  to him, the full moon lighted his face of bluish reflection , as well  the unpleasant scar which replaced his right eye. It is as if one burst the eye to him second once. he took the stringcourse, positioned it back, and  raised by refusing the hand tended by Buffy to help it. "I am a disabled person..." Buffy didn't let him finish, "stop your silly things... Nothing  changed... you are always so sexy..." She gave him a friendly flick with the shoulder and adds with humour "Thinks of the economies which you will make if you must carry glasses... go on the way Jack and don't forget your parrot..." Then she started to leave. "But you know that you are very funny...." xander added  by encasing her step. They leave the cemetery  while being hustled nicely.

Same time in London.

Giles calls Willow. "Come to see, I found something"

"About Spirit?" willow answers

"Not, I found another one. she lives in Brazil. She would be called Kain. But there is something strange whith her. She is a Vampire."

 "Yes like Spirit, she drinks blood of vampire, doesn't she?" asks willow

 "apparently one of her date with a vampire would have badly turned. she would have been  bite while she drank his blood, and would have become vampire. It is necessary to find her, and try to capture her. Perhaps  we will manage to neutralize her and take her to fight at our side. With what will appened,  the most powerful slayers will be welcome, even the vampires... Willow, you will leave in Sao polo  with Kennedy, She use to  live there, and this is the last place she have been seen, it is realy necessary to get her alive."

Back in Rome, the apartment

 Buffy is killed of concern, she is still without news of Dawn. Xander also Anxious requires her:

 "Are you sure that she did not have a school meeting for the first day, or something like that? "

" No, she didn't say anything "

Xander reflects one moment and says to her: "I will propose a stupid trick to you, but we can test"

 A few seconds later, They rings to Marie's door. She opens with a big smile and invites them to come in.

Xander: "Hello eee....In fact....it's a little spupid...but....Buffy's sister is missing...She didn't returns from school, Wer are concerned."

 "Ok! Ok Have a seat. You have a cloth which belongs to her "

Buffy unties of her neck a scarf of Dawn, that she had borrowed to her.

 Marie: "Well it is 100 $"

 Buffy riseed made indignant and talking to Xander "I told you that it was not a good idea, go of, I  did not come to make me swindle".

 Xander is confused and rised slowly. Marie stoped him, got up facing her  and explained: "sorry you can seat again , but you have to understand that what I'm doing here, feed me. No worry, be my guest for the first consultation! "she smileed to full tooth and sat down by beckoning with Buffy  to make as well.

 Buffy did carried out but seemed not to rely on Marie, however when Marie seized the scarf, an icy draught crossed the part, her hair flied and whirled, her eyes  emptied and became transparent, to fill again of images, one sees Dawn there connected and the priests around her who prepared the ritual of the sacrifice. A sword which shines in the gleam of a thousand of candles. Then a road which leaves behind and arrives until at their building. Finally the draught stops and Marie takes again her normal appearance.

 Buffy and Xander are astonished by what they have just seen.  Marie says to them "Go  quickly, you know the way, she will die? "

To add more perspicacity to Buffy concerning the way to take to find Dawn, Marie positioned her hands on Buffy's cranium , which received like an electric discharge which makeed her project her head behind. Disencumbered of the hands of conspicuous, she wispered, as if she had just made a large effort, she rised quik with a jump and left the part followed closely by xander. She knew the way.

Buffy rises jumping and leaves the apartment followed closely by xander. They run down the streets realy fast, They arrive in front of a sinister masonry at the bottom of a dead end, Buffy breaks the door of the entry with only one kick, and starts to fight with tens of monks, supported by Xander. Monks sem to come from every part, more and more at every minuts. Xander benefits from one moment of respite to seize the sword intended to make the sacrifice, and broke the bonds of Dawn. He supports her, and all prefer to escape, the monks being too numerous. Not without forgetting to take the sword with them by saying "sorry for our collection, thanks".

Buffy's apartment

 Buffy takes care on her sleepy sister . Xander brings her a cup of tea.

Xander: "It wasn't the end so? "

Buffy: "It will never be the end"

 Xander: "I'm sorry to say that to you, especially after what it has just happened, but I will leave"

Buffy: "Where will you  go? "

Xander: " Africa. Talking about feelings, and Spike, made me realize how much I loved ANya. I want to find the demon which returned Spike's soul. I want to bring back Anya. "

Buffy does not say anything. she rises putting a hand on the shoulder of her friend, she seems to agry, she understands.
